Hi all -

New poster here, been reading for a while. I was hoping to get some advice on this diamond. This is my first time buying a diamond so I'm pretty inexperienced but I've been researching and browsing here for a while now.

Stats: 1.5 carat, H, SI1, HCA 0.7

Do you think this stone will be eye-clean (my only concern with it being an SI1)? Any concerns that you see? Good value, or can I do better?

Thanks all!

I'm not sure if this one will be eye-clean. The dark crystal looks like it will be visible from close-up in certain lighting conditions. However if you're defining eyeclean as "eyeclean at 1 foot-1.5 feet of viewing distance" then it probably will be. From six inches away? I don't know.

On the above - should I be concerned that the Star Length is at 45%?

Thanks for taking a look at this - I wasn't sure if that crystal would be an issue given the location of it. Here's another option, what do you think?

Not entirely sure what's going on with this one, but there seems to be issues at 12 and 6 o clock. Can anyone who is better at "reading" these images comment on why? @Karl_K or @flyingpig ?

Well shoot! I am not good at picking stones out LOL!

Budget: Around $10-10.5K (stone only)
Size: 1.5 carat
Clarity: SI1 (as long as it's eye-clean)
Color: H or better

Okay so Stone 1 is good but priced too high. Stone 2 is not good.

Here’s another option I found, thoughts on this one? I think the inclusions might be okay and it might be eye-clean?

1.5 / G / SI1 / $10.4k

Much better. And it is a G.
It potentially has a similar problem as in Stone 2, uneven pavilion. But it is not severe.
Maybe some leakage but not severe enough to notice IRL. The back lighting is overly bright, so any leakage you see is exaggerated. And the ASET is mis-aligned.

If eye clean (or you are confident), go for it. Eye cleanliness is something we cannot tell.

I like it a lot. 98/100

Awesome - thanks for taking a look at all of these for me. I really appreciate your help!

Hi all -

Back again with an update. The ring finally arrived! I think it looks really nice. I was worried about it being eye-clean due to it being an SI1 with an inclusion/feather on the table. Good news is it looks eye-clean to my (untrained) eye! I snapped a quick picture under indoor lighting. Will try to get some more pictures outdoors soon.

What do you guys think??

Bump!

Anyone have any feedback on how this turned out? Thoughts?

I think It looks amazing! Did you use a local jeweler for the setting? I am looking for something similar to that with a loose stone purchase.

Also if YOU like the stone DON't worry about our opinion. That's how you get doubts.

Very nice as expected.

Really beautiful!

Good find. What do your eyes say?

Personally I think it looks really nice! Unfortunately it’s been cloudy and rainy the last few days here so I haven’t been able to see it in sunlight yet.

Your ring looks beautiful! Congrats!
