I am looking for a diamond for my lovely girlfriend! We just bought a place together so my budget is somewhat limited. WF suggested these two stones...

https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/compare.aspx?idnos=3754140,3816345,3811443

I am leaning towards the slightly larger diamond as it seems to have a bit more fire from video/aset image. Just looking for input on these diamonds and whether I should still focus on cut instead of trying to get bigger diamond.

Thanks!

So is your budget $2k for just the stone? Those 3 choices that WF suggested are pretty good.

At that size, you can get away with the largest I SI1. It should easily be eye clean at that size when viewed from 10-12" away.

Thanks for the response. I don't have a firm budget but would like to spend in the area of 2k for the stone.

Trying to decide between these two:

You mentioned clarity is less important on a diamond this size. I am kinda nervous about the S1 rating for WF. I noticed on AGS reports the BG has some inclusions right in the centre of the stone.

Would it be a good idea to go with this BG diamond with a better clarity rating comparable size?

For less $200 difference I'll go with the BGD stone.

Do you have an idea of the type of setting you will be looking to get? Solitaire, pave, halo, three stone? Also, what kind of metal you would be looking to set it in? .. if I am making the choice, I would actually select this stone: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/d...ls/0.706-j-si1-round-diamond-ags-104084696029 I don't consider that there will be a huge color difference between the I and the J and the stone appears to be eye-clean, but I do think that the size difference will be noticeable. However, I would not set it in a halo or with pave. (If halo or pave stick with I and higher). I would either pick a solitaire, or (and this may be because I have been obsessing over three stones lately) a three stone! I thought of JuneRose's reset some years ago, where the center stone is about the same size: https://www.pricescope.com/blog/jewel-week-rose-gold-reset-junerose
It looked so amazing and substantial. But I totally understand that it is a personal opinion and you might hate three stones lol
If a three stone, I would pick these sides, for example: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/d...ls/0.205-j-vs2-round-diamond-ags-104088431022
http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/d...ls/0.207-j-vs2-round-diamond-ags-104088431025
They currently have 10% off the smaller stones till tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for all the responses and links. She is very adament that she wants a simple yellow gold solitaire which I guess makes it easy for me although the three stone looks interesting!

I was told by WF that the inclusions were not visible to naked eye at all and they felt the stones performance was closer to VS2 which put me at ease. I did end up ordering the original diamond I was leaning toward.

Thanks for all the suggestions... maybe I will be back to ask about an upgrade :)

I am glad that you know exactly what she is looking for! Also, I realize that you already bought a stone, but I saw this stone pop up in BGD's inventory today and couldn't not share it! http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/d...0.754-j-vs2-round-diamond-ags-bl-104093583019
It is a J, but the blue fluoro will help the color, it is larger at 0.754ct and mind-clean at VS2. It is also at about the same cost as the WF stone.
