I am currently looking at two different diamonds.

Looking at 1ct in size and will be set with a yellow gold band, white gold setting.

Looking to get opinions on the two diamonds as I am very much a novice at this.

Diamond 1 - 1.02ct
Diamond 2 - 1ct

I’ve no idea but I’ll make it easier for others to respond by posting the certs as pics...

Thanks for posting images of the reports @icy_jade!

I’m far from an expert @butters88, but some initial impressions I have are these are two very different stones.

The 1.02ct is a 60/60 style (60% table and 60% depth) and with the low crown/high pavilion angle combination, you’ll see more white light and sparkles compared to the 1ct with high crown/low pavilion angles, which will produce more fire. I’m a big fan of fire, so I lean towards the 35.5/40.6 combination. It is all a matter of preference - others will lean towards the 60/60 stone just as easily.

That said, the Very Good rating on symmetry for the 1ct stands out to me and would beg more review. So, I probably wouldn’t choose it either since there are so many GIA triple X to choose from and why sacrifice?

I hope you can post some photos and/or videos as that would be helpful to giving you more input. If you can get idealscope and ASET images you’ll definitely receive much better feedback too.

I’m certain more folks who are much more experienced will be on shortly to comment as well.
