Hi
I''ve been lurking for awhile doing some research for buying an engagement ring online (especially with the canadian dollar doing so well). I''ve looked at certs, calculated angles using the holloway cut link, looked at ASET, etc.. but am wondering which diamond would you choose between the 3 and why?

All are 1.5 carat range, G colour and VS1. All have Excellent Polish/Symmetry, Cut.

1.5carat G VS1 ($13908CDN) http://www.bluenile.ca/diamond-search?pt=setform#diamonds_pid=LD01678512
Blue Nile Ideal

1.52 G VS1 ($15286CDN) http://www.bluenile.ca/diamond-search?pt=setform#diamonds_pid=LD01653521
This one is a Blue Nile "Signature Ideal"

1.534 G VS1 ($15852US)

Expert Selection

All have excellent HCA no# in the 0.9-1.4 range.

So it comes down to price and inclusions.

When I look at the 1.5 GIA cert, I can only see pinpoints. I dont see the needle on the plot. Similarly, when I look at the 1.52 GIA cert, it says there are crystals, clouds and indented naturals. Unfortunately, no pics.
When I look at the 1.534 AGS cert, i see clouds, crystals, etc, but when I look at the picture, etc, it looks great. I can only assume that the 2 BN diamonds will also look great to the naked eye since they are VS1 also.
When I go to the local jeweler and look at VS1 diamonds, they look great.

So are some inclusions better than others? So should I really be caring so much about inclusions if all are VS1?

thx

in a 1.5 VS1 it could have a veritable rainbow of inclusions and it would make absolutely no difference to visibility or performance - VS1 inclusions aren''t an issue

Inclusions schmlinclusions when it comes to VS1, that is my personal philosophy. None of them have any bad notes, like surface graining so poop on clarity

So how to choose? Well I like the WF diamond the best. The angles are the tighest and unlike the other diamonds, you have images to verify the cut quality. I would not pay the premium for BN signature ideal because they do not provide hearts or arrows images and so you cannot verify H&A status. So I won''t pay for that label. So heads and shoulders I would take the WF stone. They also have great long term policies like buy back and upgrades, which you think you might not need but you never know! Since it is an ES confirm that it qualifies for their polcies, though.
