Hi
, Complex question, sorry
I am considering for a ring for my other hand to enjoy one of the following in platinum (I have a 0.5ct solitaire ER which I want to keep the way it is, but always dreamt about a bigger diamond):
1) Solitaire - I like the look of the Brellia H&A cushion and could get a 1.35 G VVS2 solitaire (its the biggest I can afford and there is not much choice in Brellias),... I thought if my initial wish was for a bigger diamond, maybe it is better to get it. Full stop
But - there are not many Brellias above 1ct available and the VVS2 clarity brings the price up. Also I do own a solitaire already. At the same time the BGD H&A cushions are similar and cheaper (and I think also face up larger) - is it really worth to pay for a Brellia then? I like the shape better, but will I actually see any difference in shape once set?
2) Three stone - then a beautiful Brellia threestone ring also cought my eye. There are three perspectives in the link, just click further: https://www.facebook.com/JannPaulDiamonds/photos/a.188638361168653.43753.142685262430630/385476911484796/?type=3&permPage=1 It is from JannPaul in Singapore and it was originally made with 0.4ct-0.5ct-0.4ct, but my option would be 0.6ct G - 1.0ct H - 0.6ct G. I like the idea of a different shape of ring, plus the finger coverage, plus the trilogy symbolics. I think the ring is nicely balanced, classy and elegant. But the biggest diamond would be only 1ct then.
3) Or I also completely unexpectedly started to fall for the GOGs AVCs. I actually found them not appealing earlier and all of a sudden BUM... I like them. But since living out of the US I cannot see them live any time soon. I am worried a bit about the lower color, at the same time with AVCs I can imagine it being just fine and L is compared to diamonds I have seen on PS not that low. In a similar budget a 2.10 L VVS2 stone would be possible... I think it would not compete with my engagement ring style-wise and the diamond is also completely different than anything else and could be just an amazing ring to wear...
What would you do??? If you have similar rings, what are the cons and pros? Any ideas about the settings for the solitaires?
