help/Advice Resizing Platinum Ring

Hello,

I have a rare Mark Morrell platinum wedding ring. Unfortunately the size of the ring is a 6 and my size is 5.5. I would like to get it resized but I am afraid of taking it to a jeweler that will scratch or harm it.

Can anyone recommend a jeweler in the DeLand/Daytona/Gainesville Florida area that can be trusted with platinum?

You might want to look into having Mark himself do it, if possible. Since he knows his exact alloy, it might be worth having him do it.

Hi Ame,
Your are right of coarse, the best thing is to always send it to whomever made the ring.
That being said you can use the piece you cut out on downsizing to match the metal.

Maybe it is hot year round where you are, but I would be sure you are at the hottest time of year before resizing. And I honestly think for a half size, I'd add sizing beads just in case later in life you need the extra half size. You really don't want to size it down and then have to size it larger.
