Help Advice Needed

I''m considering buying diamond number 1284340 on jamesallen.com

It will go in ring number 11029p, if that matters.

I''m looking for a diamond for maximum fire and brilliance. Is there anything about this diamond that should give me pause before buying it. Comments say additional clouds not shown. Will that decrease the fire.

It''s ideal cut with what appear to be good table to depth proportions, I think.
The color is G with VS1 clarity. I believe I read that this is a good combination if you are looking for maximum value for a diamond that, to the naked eye, appears as good or almost as good as a D color diamond with flawless clarity. It will be set in platinum if that matters.

Is this correct or will I get a more sparkly better looking diamond to the naked eye if I go for better color or clarity?

Will a 1.20 carat diamond be two small for ring number 11029p? There are a lot of side diamonds in it. Do I need to go for something bigger so that it isn''t overpowered by all the other diamonds in the ring??

VS1 is /quite/ high enough in clarity. SI1 is a much more "bang for the buck," though.

numbers look good. Ask for an Idealscope image from JA if you are interested.

Ditto on the SI1, you can get an eye-clean stone in the SI1 range and it will look the same as an IF.

Cut quality is the main determining factor for diamond beauty, so you could consider SI clarity if verified eyeclean by a trusted vendor but if you prefer VS then stick with it, the diamond in question looks very promising with the cut and quality, ask for an Idealscope image for the diamond if you are seriously interested in it.

Thank you all. That is very helpful. Perhaps I''ll look into an SI clarity stone and be able to get a diamond that''s a bit larger for around the same price. How it looks to the naked eye is really all I''m concerned about. I have trouble telling what a diamond will look like in real life from the images on james allen. It''s probably just me, but I can''t really detect any differences and can''t tell how bright and sparkly they will be in real life. I''ll come back here with some images and hopefully you guys will be able to help me out some more.

I''m getting an idealscope image of the diamond I mentioned before. I''m not sure how much I''ll be able to see, but I''ll pass it along.

I have another question. I''ve read that titanium rings on average cost about twice as much as 18k white gold rings. And I''ve noticed that this is true on zales.com. However, the ring I''m looking at on JA.com is not that much more in titanium than 18k white gold. ($2600 vs. $2100) Can anyone explain why this is the case? Does JA.com use lower quality titanium, better white gold, or simply charge less than others for titanium? Hopefully they just charge less, which seems to be the case for many of their diamonds.

Its a very good image and James Allen are competitively priced.
