The emerald comes from Colombia. I bought it at a trade show in 2002 or 03 at Suntec city in Singapore.

This particular emerald has hardly had any inclusions, very clean and the color is beautiful. Simply perfect in every way.

Sorry I do not know how to explain to you regarding choosing the right one. It all based on what I see when I pick up each stone and observe them closely. You may consider purchasing this book entitled ''Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald buying guide. How to evaluate, identify, select & care for these gemstones (2nd edition) by Renee Newman, GG

Thank you so much for your reply. I will definately be looking at Columbia Emeralds. And I will pick up the book too. Right now I am shopping for my Engagement Ring and than I will need to find my Wedding Ring. So I guess after that I will have time and money to shop for the Emerald Ring.
