Hello! I have been lurking and ogling for a few weeks and just decided to post.

Not sure if I am posting in the right place..

The SO and I decided its time to get engaged. My mother has my grandmothers and grangrandmothers diamonds from their engagement rings.

We (mother SO and self) went with the stones to the store to have them cleaned and look at settings - I have never been looking before in person.

The stones are both Old Miners Cuts.

Grandma''s is (pulling from memory)
1.19 ct
H-I color
SI-1

Great-grandma''s is (pulling from memory)
1.47
J/K
SI-1

We decided to use the smaller stone bc of the better color and maybe make the other into a pendadnt of some sort later in time at some point. I am thrilled that I will get to wear my Grandmothers stone it means so much to me.

I may have even picked out a setting which the SO might even have purchased so I might have pictures to share in the show your bling section soon :)

thanks for everyones posts here it really helping when I went looking and was talking about the stones

I wish I had pictures of the settings I looked at or the stones

I think my mother took back one stone and my SO has the other

I will certainly post pics once I get the ring!! :)
