I don''t want to threadjack, but I was wondering where you got the idea behind this blanket statement?

It''s been my experience that an independent appraiser is more than happy to appraise any diamond for their stated price list regardless of where or how the owner came by the stone. Perhaps you are referring to jewelry store appraisers? Data please?
