Hello!
I just spent a lovely day with my mother and we were chatting about her engagement ring. I told her how knowledgeable all the people on this board were and that I would be able to tell her more about her stone if I posted pics of it.
A little background.. My parents got engaged in 1954 with this ring. The stone was originally the stone from my grandmother's engagement ring from the 1920s. It's original setting was a very closed up.. one where very little of the stone showed. My mother's father passed away and my grandmother got remarried and got a new ring for her second wedding so the stone was free for my Dad to give to my mother for her ring. Back in those days you could bring a non Tiffany stone into Tiffany to have them set it and that's what they did. It's an old cut stone but I don't know of what type.
Here are 3 pics.. I would love to hear anything about it that you can see from them. She is not a nutsky like me about keeping her jewelry clean so it's not pristine but I think the faceting pattern is still visible.
Thanks in advance!! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL!!!
