Hey all, so I''m going hard core for the next month and a half to get this last 8-10 lbs off. Last night I did 200 jumping jacks, mountain climbers, squats, leg lifts, reverse crunch leg lifts, and 150 crunches of varying sorts. That was a good 30 mins. This morning I did my 30 min jump rope intervals with crunches, squats and push ups since I was in a hurry. Tonight I plan to hit the treadmill for a while, do more jump rope, and some more ab moves before bed.
Cathe is a workout program on Fit TV and I taped a one hour workout she does with 8 cardio blast intervals with sculpting and strength moves in between. It does push ups, weights, lunges, squats, plies, crunches, side planks with a twist, reverse crunches, sumo squats, etc. You get the gist.

phoenix - could you maybe store some of those clothes you think would work when you''re pregger?
Lorelei - great to hear the toof is on the mend
Dee Jay - too funny about the muscles

I had my PT today for the second time this week. My training partner and I both had a hard time getting into it b/c we are both so olympics sleep deprived. It really is amazing how much not getting enough sleep can impact everything. I still had a good workout though, it just could have been better. Oh well I will definitely be rested after a week in Costa Rica!

dragon,
I hate mountain climbers...you are a champ!

Okay, this is what I did, with the your alls help: Lorelei, Ellen, Katebar, Kimberly, Marcy, Rod, DJ and others!!

I knew I couldn't do one too extreme so I made a small change instead but yet a big enough change for me. I made sure to eat 5 fruits and veggies though

Instead just an example:

Breakfast
1/2 slice bread
3 slices canadian bacon
3 egg whites
1 sl low fat cheese

apple

Lunch:
Spinach salad chicken breast (or tuna) with some nuts

snack, handful of nuts or a protein drink w/flaxseed oil

dinner:
protein, veggies (like chicken soup w/beans and veggies) and and fresh fruit (bowl of raspberry's)

then a few nuts, and a banana a few hours before I went to bed

so really I cut out more carbs without eliminating them all together and eating the same amount of calories. Today, I was at Costco and walked past the yummy looking pizza. hehe
2.gif

Michelle (SDL) have you tried core??? I still have about 15 lbs to lose, though.

Skippy, what kind of protein drink do you do? Can I use protein powder in a fruit smoothie???

What do you put the flaxseed oil in? Does it come in a bottle, just a oil?

Happy Thursday all! This morning I started out on the elliptical but after 10 mins I moved over to the bike and did an hour there. I don''t think I was moving as fast as usual though! There is a class at 10 am tomorrow that I might take since one of my closings has gotten moved back a week. Wish me luck, ha ha...

I''ve been pretty good today but I think I''m going to have a hamburger and corn on the cobb for dinner. The HH is late coming home and this is about the extent of my cooking ability.

Congrats on the 15 lbs Skip!

Hey, guys! Quick check in. Andrew and I just got back in from a long walk in the neighborhood that worked up a good sweat. It feels good to get back into the swing of things with working out after being sick. It is amazing how much better you feel mentally and physically after working out. Now I just have to get back into eating right again....comfort food when you are sick is the best! Anyway, hope everyone has a great night!

Hey all! Hope you had a great Thursday...Friday''s mere hours away!
36.gif
I''ve lost about 1 third of my goal total since starting on this board, and I really love reading about all of your progress. It''s very motivational for me. I eased back into the treadmill today and did some free weights afterwards, as always. I didn''t really feel the burn with the weights but hopefully I will tomorrow or the next day. You all are killing me with the talk of cheesy bread!
29.gif

Dragon - Yay for losing another pound! I don''t have many suggestions for great meals because I am still working on those recipes myself, but I usually pack tuna or fat-free turkey and some sort of fruit...pretty boring but it''s what I do. Only 10 lbs to go?! That''s awesome!

Phoenix - Yeah, I actually heard from my sister today and she emailed me a pic of her latest 14 week ultrasound. It is insane that she has a person growing inside of her! She has bought some new clothes, but she never wore really clingy clothes to begin with, so she can manage for a bit longer. I envy your option to walk to stores...in the city I just don''t feel safe enough to do so and the grocery store is kinda far to walk with the truckload of groceries I buy even if I only need one thing. I''m glad your wine club has found a way to work even in the recession.

Lorelei - Yay for the treadmill workouts!

DeeJay - LOL! I have the same problem! I am only 5''1" on a good day so finding pants are a nightmare!

Skippy - The Mentha line of stuff (I don''t know the official brand name) is great for me, but I like minty/menthol-y/tingly stuff. They have shampoo, lip balm, etc., etc. It''s definitely not for everyone, so it just depends if you like mint! YAY for losing over 3 lbs! That''s awesome!
36.gif
I forgot to tell you that I tried the spinach pie the other week...it was SO good and I was able to pack some for lunch for two days.

Rod - Yes, 5 hours...I can get in bed at 10pm but still won''t sleep until 2am...doesn''t matter if I need to wake up at 7am or noon! It''s a sickness!

Appletini - Several of my co-workers have noted sleep deprivation because of the Olympics! I think Starbucks'' business must have increased since the Olympics.

Good night all!

Wahoo Skippy!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY! (I don''t have a cheering emotie, so that''s all I can do...
2.gif
)

Just a quickie.

JT had his appt today. The specialist wants his tonsils out ASAP. We have an appt next month. We have to have a couple weeks to get over whatever he has now and then he needs work 2 weeks prior to surgery (while not sick), so that puts us right around 5 weeks out. I''m relieved to finally hear a dr say they NEED to come out and there is no reason to make him suffer another year. I know he''ll have a rough few days but I''m sure it won''t be as bad as when he gets the severe infections (which make his throat look like hamburger meat). So, tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy with possible ear tubes depending on how "gummy" they are. (gross, I know)

I will be helping my sis move over the next weekish. I''m going to help her pack and we''re going to try to take a few things over everyday. (she''s moving about 12 miles from where she currently lives.) Her DH can''t get time off work, and I''m sure with a 1.5 yr old, her move won''t exactly be fun by herself!

Well, I''ve been doing well with my eating again (no pie suppers), but I hear a cake mix calling my name. I''m going to heed that call.

Bye for now!

Hi All!

I''m back home and ready to hop back on the wagon. I actually did reall well while out of town and it showed on the scale after my shower this afternoon. Even after eating 1/2 a Jr. Wopper and some fries at the airport for lunch I only weighed a few lbs. more than normal. It''s good to be home, I missed my husband very much. He made me a delicious pork tenderloin dinner and I indulged in 2 glasses of wine while just relaxing and being with him. My trip was awesome; it was great to visit friends and play with my nephew for a few days. Wine tasting was probably my biggest off-track day. Lots of wine, bread, cheese (and fruit! I promise). I didn''t get any formal exercise in, but lots of walking.

I''ll have to go back and re-read threads, but for now...

Marcy, congrats, my super-fit-friend! You are fantastic!

Skip, hoorway for weight loss! Glad the additional protein seems to have helped. I''m a carb fiend too, I understand.

Phoenix, no stress about a few pounds, you are an exercise rockstar.

SS, I''m so glad they''re going to do something about JT''s chronic illness. I feel so bad for your little guy!

Hi everyone.
35.gif
I made homemade pizza for supper tonight. It was quite tasty.
3.gif
I used a pizza crust mix, pizza sauce, low fat cheese and little pieces of Canadian bacon. It works out to about 350 to 400 calories for ¼ of the pizza.

We bought new tires for my car about a month ago and the car has been shaking and vibrating ever since. Today we took it back to where we got the tires and asked them to check it and see what was wrong. They called my husband to say the car was done so he picked it up and they said they couldn’t find a thing wrong with it. He took it on the highway and sure enough it was still vibrating.
29.gif
We took it to another tire store this afternoon and watched them check the balance on the first tire. It was way off and it looked like it had never been balanced. They balanced all 4 of them and not one of them was in balance. Our bill was $50. My husband it taking the bill to the first dealer tomorrow and tell them what the other place found and ask them to pay us back. We’ll see how that goes. I doubt we’ll buy tires from the first place ever again.

Dragonfly, you certainly are hitting the workouts hard. Good luck on reaching your goal.
Appletini, yay for having time to rest up in Costa Rica.
Skippy, woo hoo for losing 3.6 more pounds. Congratulations for losing 15 pounds. Yippee!!!
cheerleader1.gif

Hi Lorelei. How is the teef today? Now I am craving hot bread right out of the oven.
SanDiegoLady, bread is quite yummy. Sorry to hear you’ve been stressed. Yay for your hubby losing 25 pounds.
Linda, LOL at your husband losing 10 pounds by sneezing.
lol.gif
Wouldn’t that be nice?
DeeJay, good luck at your closing.
Steph, glad you are feeling better and enjoying going for a nice walk with Andrew.
Indy, woo hoo and congratulations for losing 1/3 of your goal weight already. Yippee!!
runaround1.gif

Somethingshiny, sorry JT has to have so many procedures. I am sure they’ll get him all fixed up soon.
Kimi, welcome back. I am glad you had a great time and I know you’d glad to be home. Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it.
Rod, sorry you had another long day. Sleep well my friend.
Have a great evening.

The sad thing is that I have been tivoing the olympics but I just have to watch it live. Fortunately I''m officially on vacataion as of 4pm today so even though I''ll be getting up early the next two mornings, tomorrow is still technically sleeping in. DH and I went out for dinner tonight and were kind of bad but kept in within reason. He had a bad day so we went to the wine bar before dinner instead of after, but I only had one glass. Then at dinner we got the Tower O Rings for an app to split, its giant fried onion and poblano rings..awesome...I only had 2.5 and then we split our entree. Oh and i had a cosmo.

The highlight of my day is that I bought some crocs flip flops are they are oh so comfy!

marcy,
I love homemade pizza!

SS,
I''m glad you have some "answers" for JT. I hope getting his tonsils out makes him a lot more healthier.

Good morning!

Lots to catch up on...I''ll go back in a bit and see what I missed.

Welcome home Kim! I''m glad you had fun on vacation! Any leads on jobs for the fall? It''s late, I know, and school may have already started for you -- I''m not sure. I love hearing about how much you love the kids you work with, and I wish you all the best for future job placements.

SS -- Wow, JT has a lot going on, huh? Poor guy -- I wish him well! At least he''ll feel a lot better after the surgery, and hopefully there won''t be any more (or at least fewer) infections.

Marcy - pizza sounds yummy. At the BBQ we went to last weekend, our friends made their own grilled pizzas and they were TASTY.

Rod -- 3 hours at the gym???? Wow! If only I could be that motivated. Oh, and I read what you wrote the other day about my intake of only 1100 calories. I had forgotten to update that. By the end of the day it had gotten up to 1500, which was much better. It''s still hard to get up to 1600 but if I can make it to 1500, I figure that''s good enough.

Appletini -- thank you very much for the chicken salad recipe you posted the other day. I''ll have to try making it.

Happy Friday all! This morning I had to do something at my office right at 9 am and then I went to another (different) class at the gym. This one was MUCH easier than the one I did on Tuesday (probably should have started with this one, LOL) but I think I still got an OK workout.

We''re having people over for dinner tonight and the HH is griling chickens. His new thing is you take a whole chicken an you cut in in a way that it''s "flat" and then you put something heavy on it (like a cookie sheet with rocks) and grill it like that. Sounds crazy I know, but it''s very tasty!

This is the weekend of the air show in Chicago. The Demon is NOT HAPPY. Poor thing is probably thinking this is one big three day long thunderstorm...
