I lurked for weeks on this site before settling on what I wanted ... then we searched until we found the perfect jeweler ... and then I waited patiently (OK, impatiently) until last Friday, when he unexpectedly got down on one knee in front of my grandmother's fireplace, opened the box, and I thought I might die. Loving this ring. Thanks to all for sharing your experiences and pictures, they really helped me in deciding and honing in on what I wanted ... here's my Marquise (Mom had a marquise, they just say "marriage" to me), E, VS2, 1.13 carat engagement ring, along with 21 G, VS2-SI1, 0.07 carat side stones.

The length to width on that mq center stone is DIVINE....not too long, not too thin or fat....so ripe looking and gorgeous! I love it on the eternity band......it''s gorgeous!!!!
