I have been a ladies in waiting before and was taken off the list because I do not post too often, but it happened on March 29, 2009 (sorry I have been finishing up my classes for the semester, so I haven''t been able to post).
Story:
My boyfriend asked me to go to brunch with him that Sunday morning at Charley''s on Newbury Street in Boston. This is nothing out of the ordinary, but it was raining outside and I was not really in a mood to get all dressed up for brunch. So, after much convincing he said he would drive in, anyone who lives in Boston knows how much the T stinks, so I was happy. We drive down near Boston Common (which I thought he was going to loop around to find closer parking) and he parks right near the common so we would have to walk through and all the way up Newbury Street IN THE POURING RAIN! I was kind of upset...because I had high heels on and white pants, haha, and we only had one umbrella. So, anyways, we start to walk through Boston Common and he says, "hey lets go check out that monument." I was very confused because he usually does not care about stuff like that, so we start to walk over and he starts fidgeting with his pea coat and acting kind of funny. We get to the monument, while sharing an umbrella, and he steps out from the umbrella and gets down on one knee while it is downpouring out!!!! He said, "KCG (insert whole name here) will you marry me? Will you be my wife?" & then opens the ring box!! At this point I was in complete shock - as soon as he made the movement to his knee I burst into tears and shouted "ahhhhhh omigosh" and then I yelled "YES I WILL MARRY YOU." He was completely soaked at this point and we hugged and kissed and he put the beautiful ring on my finger and then we walked all the way to Charley''s and celebrated with some mimosas and french toast!! It was so nice afterwards to have the long walk in the rain so we could enjoy our first moments engaged together. We were in complete utter shock to take pictures when it happened - so after brunch we went back to the monument and took some reenactment shots SO HAPPY!!!
