Are the VG the result of the CA and PA which are not favored by the HCA? Also, when I look the IS image it appears that at the 3:00 position it has very slight leakage. Maybe I am seeing things, but on my monitor it is a lighter shade than on the rest of the diamond.

Rather than creating a new thread I will post what I am looking for.

Total budget is $7,000.

Setting: BG Fishtail pave with Truth head

Cut: HA (would like to get from BGD, but may consider WF as well? Do people do this or is it not recommended?)
Carat: Would like to maximize, minimum of 1 ct.
Color: G-H if not maximizing size, otherwise would consider J and above
Clarity: SI2 and above (eye clean from the top)

I live just south of Dallas so I will be making a trip to Houston if my schedule allows.

The HCA estimates performance based on the numbers you input, the IS/ASET you have shows actual performance. It's a gorgeous stone, don't worry about the HCA values - HCA is just one tool of many. AGS report marks the stone as an AGS0.

No leakage at all in IS or ASET - image was taken at a slight tilt which is why the arrows are different lengths, culet is off-centre, etc. This isn't an issue.

Both BGD's and WF's H&A lines are cut to extremely strict standards - as are GOG's signature stones and the Infinity line. I would be comfortable choosing blindly from any of the four interchangeably. You need to search the inventory a bit more with JA's truehearts but they have beautiful stones, too.

Sounds like you have a good idea of what you want, would call a few vendors and see what they can pull up for you/

Put it on hold, pay them a visit and view it in person. Let BGD know what you are looking for see what they can show you while you are there.

The one you picked is a beautiful stone. I don''t know what you are seeing as far as leakage goes but I am no expert. I would trust Brian and Lesley as they are the experts.

Looks good.

Hi CRB and welcome!

That appears to be a beautiful diamond, as for the HCA it really isn''t needed with such a finely cut diamond with supporting images, it is used as a rejection, not selection tool.

Thanks Lorelei! You make a great point about the HCA being a rejection tool. Definately puts my mind at ease. I will probably call and talk to Brian and get his recommendations as well. They have a few diamonds that meet my criteria and budget.
