Hi everyone, hope all is well.

I just bought the following engagement ring, all looks good in real life.
I subsequently did a check on the HCA score and it came up to 2.3.
I'm worried as I understand the range should be below 2.

Below are the GIA specifications:
Carat: 0.46
Depth: 61.1
Table: 61
Crown: 35
Pavilion: 40.8
Symmetry: Excellent
Measurements: 4.91x4.95x3.02

Would this be acceptable in your opinion for its price of around USD 1700 (diamond only)?

I'm just looking at White Flash and they have diamonds similar in size for less. They would be the cream of the crop and you wouldn't have to worry about performance

Missed out on the clarity (VS1) and Color (G). Thank you.

The table is a bit large. It is decent overall. I would not pay more than $1000 for it.

Better cut, higher color. $1000

Thanks, am considering an upgrade to a higher cut for better performance.

HCA score of 2 is not a hard cut-off point - up to mid-2s should still be decent but may require some additional checking / analysis.

Stone is okay but the price is too high. Examples of G VS2 superideal cuts:

Thanks all for your kind feedback. I've made the decision to upgrade to another piece :)

A lot is riding on the GIA rounding. If the crown or pavilion angles are ever so slightly lower then the rounded numbers the stone will be fine.
You can see that on this chart your proportions are on the edge.
In under a half you are not going to get huge fire flashes, and the stone you have will probably show up very bright and the spread is very close to many half carat slightly larger diamonds.
So I think you need not worry and enjoy the brilliance :) 1602651094311.png
