HCA score 2.3 for diamond pendant

I am having this stone made into a pendant. I am worried that the HCA score has come in at 2.3. The diamond looks sparkly but I would appreciate any opinions on the numbers. I now realise the stone is too deep. The only loose photo and GIA certificate attached. Thanks for any opinions. It’s ok to be brutal

Is the stone still within the return window or eligible for upgrade?

HCA is just a tool to help vet stones. If you love the stone and it sparkles, that's all that matters at the end of the day!

Thanks. I think only option is that I could sell.

It's not all that matters ;) Store lights have that amazing ability to make even the terrible stones out there look good, so making sure the numbers work will mean a stone should work in most lighting environments! :)

HCA is a guidance tool, and the creator himself has said that up to mid-2s should still work (but will require more analysis).

If you have the stone already and it looks good to your eyes in most lighting environments, I think it would be just fine :))

The main issue is the rounding of the GIA data - it could be on the lower ends and be fine, or the upper ends and bad. The symmetry grade of Excellent has little meaning with those proportions - if it has hearts and arrows then it would be a pass.

I just modeled it in DiamCalc and at 5.05mm and slightly thick girdle it appears to be on the upper range.
For a pendant I would suggest you look for a GIA VG because it is shallow - you will save money and get a bigger diameter - it might help having an SI1 too as those inclusions will hit the brilliance too.

Definitely has arrows and they appear very symmetrical. I still don’t really know what I’m looking for with the naked eye when trying to see hearts. Thanks heaps for your response

@Pinkdreams it's not just about depth, the other proportions need to "play well" together. But, in all honesty, I think the clouds are more of the concern, if you are to have one, with this diamond.
You said you are having the stone made into a pendant but you cannot return the stone. Did you have the stone previously?
I really think that for a pendant it will be very lovely. Honestly. Don't get caught up in the numbers, especially for a pendant. The viewing is different. And it is an F color, it's a wonderful size, it will look fabulous.

Thanks so much. Yes was the stone in my original ering. I was getting worried about the numbers but I know it sparkles and is sentimental.

OMG, you should DEFINITELY use this diamond in the pendant and don't even give it a 2nd thought! It is 2 cts, colorless, sparkles, and has special meaning... that's the perfect combination to create a beautiful pendant! Would love for you to post photos when it is completed.

+1 to the above - it will be lovely to have it in addition to any new stone you get :))

With all the inclusions in one area and additional clouds not shown si2, has it been checked to make sure it isn't cloudy/hazy on that part of the stone?

I can’t see any problems with my eyes but don’t really know what I am looking for. Finished product below. I am very happy with it but I have no problem with others pointing out the problem areas. Struggling to take a helpful photo though
