Hi Folks, new to this forum and am looking to see if anyone can help me out with a diamond decision. I am looking at a 1.5 carat rb diamond to purchase for an engagement ring. I have utilized both the HCA tool and AGA cut class tool and had a concern with the light return coming back as a "very good" grade. Is this something to be concerned about? Fire and Scintillation both scored "excellent" and spread was "very good". The total score came back as 1.4. I do understand this is not a selection tool rather than one to help eliminate poor performers so was somewhat worried about the "very good" score on the light return. Anybody have any inputs or concerns regarding this? The AGA cut class has graded this a "1B" with "1A" scores in every category other than crown angle which returned a score of "2A". If anyone can provide me any insight it would be greatly appreciated.

could you provide us all proportion numbers or a link for the diamond?

those numbers are fine. 58/35.5/40.6 complement each other.
Ask the vendor for the idealscope or aset image

Thanks for taking a look a this! Unfortunately, the seller is an online vendor (BlueNile) and I am not able to retrieve any of the idealscope or aset images. Would it be risky buying this diamond without seeing them? From looking at the numbers, is the "very good" for light return anything to worry about?

Not much can be said further without the IS/ASET or a very well taken magnified photo. You can search for a diamond with safer 34.5/40.8 or 35/40.6 combo. But you will run into the same problem.

Again , by looking at the proportions alone, 35.5/40.6 is fine.

Here is the link to the diamond which provides a magnified image of the diamond

The 75% lower girdle with such a crown/pavilion combo can make the arrows look very bold.
If you like that kind of look, go for it.
This kind of diamond can have slightly less (but still very good) light return inside the table.
The bold arrows could produce some big fire flashes.
