Does anyone have any advice to the ideal range for the HCA advisor? i.e 1.3-1.7 etc. I know the page says that 0-2 is ideal.

Is it more important to have an all excellent ratings or a range of 1-2 etc?

Is there any drawbacks to choosing a stone that is between 0-1?

Is it safer to choose a stone that settles "X" in the graph range of the ideal and excellent cut determination for the GIA and AGS on the HCA cut advisor?
Thanks!

Is there a cut adviser for princess cuts?

No.

The reason why there will never be a cut adviser for fancies is because there are too many variables.

Thanks JulieN. That''s too bad, so then how do we analyse a fancy?

ideal-scope

Thx JulieN

ASET is better for fancy shaped stones.
We have begun selling it at www.ideal-scope.com for $50 - the light is a good idea too but not essential - - and tweezers and a bit of practice is invaluable. It is more complex than the ideal-scope - which is all you ever need for rounds.

We are working on a tutorial
