Having a chunky halo/cluster ring made…anyone have something similar? What do you think of the way the gold covers the entire outside of the ring?

This will be made with oec moissanite stones in yellow gold. it will be. A right hand cocktail ring, it’s my first moissanite purchase with the exception of a couple small bands. The center is 6.5 and I had them upgrade the side stone to 3.5mm each to make it chunky with good finger coverage.

I love clusters! Personally I prefer for the prongs to be as minimal as possible, like in the attached pic. But that would give it a more antique-y look though...Vintage-Engagement-Ring-from-NYC-Collection.jpg

I second this! I think it gives the ring a much more romantic, antique vibe as opposed to a lot of visible prongs.

@kris01vb, I'm not a fan of the metal wrapping around the sides... I feel like it might impact the light play and sparkle of the moissanites too. :(

This is is a little different looking from the top view and larger stones. The metal is less and more like delicate prongs. Like this better? I would still do yellow gold BA68813C-38F3-40A9-B272-436D393DEA6C.png

Do you like this better? A little different look from the top, bigger stones and less metal with delicate feminine prongs. Would still do in yellow gold. 2DDFBFD7-FAEB-4CDD-888C-65D1430DC303.png

Great ring idea! One like this is definitely on my wish list.

I would use white gold prongs because they are practically invisible next to the diamonds whereas with yellow gold, the prongs compete with the diamonds for notice.

But I do usually prefer yellow gold so I'd probably keep the band in yellow gold.

I would also have the sides open to allow more light to hit the stones.

I like the prongs with the sharp ends, the rounded ends as shown in the first photo seem dated to me.

Please let us see when it's finished!

So you like this setting better? 62A1F6D2-2762-4C73-8590-3328A2C5385F.png

Ok, I changed it up, having this done, little bigger stones and different prongs with less metal. Will still have made i yellow gold. 1733E9E1-29AA-490F-BDB2-9BDBDF49544C.png7F7FB497-154D-4829-BA61-AFA11FC8530D.png

This is beautiful! I much prefer it vs the first design :) How big will the stones be? I’d love to get something like that for myself too…

So here is a finished ring that is nearly identical to to what I’m having made, except mine will have dainty claw prongs and be oec. I know most people would prefer white gold on prongs, but I like it the look of the finished ring and the vintage look it gives it.

I think it looks great and excited to see the final result!
Just in case I wanted to flag that in your top down photo in all gold it looks like the diamonds sit at the same level (girdle to girdle) and the inspo pics with white metal prongs looks like the cluster diamonds are set lower than the center stone. Not sure if you had a preference either way though!

The ring is finished! The center stone is a little over 7mm with 4mm side stones in yellow gold. Here are the pics they sent. It’s shipping from India so will take like weeks to get then I share a pic of it on in good lighting.

What a stunner!!! :kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2: can't wait to see your pics of them! will be a very impatient wait for sure... at least if it were me!

This is stunning. I love the claws. The older I get the more claws I seem to want on my rings. I adore that vintage feel and the side / back view is beautiful.

Beautiful! Cant wait to see this on your hand!!

It's gorgeous!!!

Agreed about the prongs. The gemstone should take center stage not the prongs!

Yes, petite claw prongs would be perfect.

It came in tonight so I didn’t get to see it in the sunlight and I can’t wait! Tried to get some color flashes by taking a pic with the flash on and it overwhelmed the camera lol. Glad I did the yellow gold prongs, they are very minimal. I don’t realize that he was making it go with the natural curve of my finger, but I’m ok with it. I thinks it’s a perfect fun spring fashion ring. I’ll get a pic outside of its sunny tomorrow.
