Well first, I hadn''t noticed a difference. Second, now that I have been asked, I have to say that in Around The World, discussions were heated for many months before the US elections. Third, from a meterorological point of view, in Australia, whence some of our posters hail, the weather is now quite warm. Also: the notion that depression is related to the weather has been disproven (as has the notion that sugar makes children wild). I do not know that that means no one gets cabin fever in the winter months, however! Feeling closed in is not the same thing as feeling depressed!

There is probably enough in that one paragraph to cause several fights if people are in the mood to fight!

Blah I don''t care what they say, bad weather can cause depression, what do they know ha!! And give my grandboys to much sugar and they are wild indians ha to that one too. Sometimes these "specialists" I think, don''t know what they are talking about.

It''s either a case of great minds thinking alike, or an example of the influence Mercury has on communication ....

I was noticing recently that there seem to be more short fuses floating around PS than usual. I remembered that about a year ago this time, I was noticing the same thing, and ended up taking a break from the forums until things seemed to have calmed down.

I haven''t been here long enough to test this theory... but it seems that last year and this year (don''t know about two years ago, wasn''t paying enough attention at that point!) starting around January the general animosity jumped up a few notches. Last year it seemed to have cooled off by April. Could this be cabin fever? Or post-holiday blues? Is everyone feeling a little more testy because we''re trying to shed the winter weight for bikini season (I guess it''s a little early for that)?

Has anyone else noticed this?? Or do I just happen to be stepping into more turbulent forums around the same time every year?

WOW that''s a lot of question marks for one post.
yes,the holiday CC bills are due in Jan.

I miss those days. Not about you getting beat up DF. Just that those were great conversations and I learned a great deal from them.
I wish we had more of those kind of discussions today. When I joined PS is was a free for all. And yes no better team than Alj and Mara. Oh and you have to include my friend belle. I miss her a lot.

Ya''ll are cracking me up and "icy white" and "getting engaged is a fad" were before my time. I don''t even know what you''re talking about and I am laughing! Thanks for the fun.

My newbie experience is that this is a pretty supportive community and a fun place to hang out. I do find that, just about anywhere, grumpy breeds more grumpy. Hey, we''re all imperfect.

It''s called Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD. it really does affect people. And for those that live in places where it isn''t winter, and it''s warm (or in this crazy desert, like me, Freke and Skippy), the attitude of others will certainly still rub off onto them. If one person is angry, it tends to spark others into it too.

The anger is partly why I haven''t been posting much. After the whole "copywrited design" debacle, I have stayed away, but it was grumpy even before that.

There was a gal who used to only write in all caps, no matter what people tried to tell her about it and she insisted that icy white was the only way to go. I don''t recall exactly but I remember thinking she must be very young. It was worth pulling up a chair and getting out the popcorn.

Lorelei and others will have to correct me, but didn't she also start a large amount of off the wall polls? Kind of like the one asking if engagement was becoming a fad... of course, in all caps.

I wonder if the mood varies intra-month as well.
