Have you ever stalked a diamond...

There has always been what appears to be poaching going on.
Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn''t.
The lesson put it on hold.

I remember one nice lady who was crying and very sad that someone poached a diamond.
The buyer of the diamond had posted about it a few days before and went ahead with the purchase.
Who was poaching from who?
neither poached from the other.
The first one to put down cash wins.

I think some vendors poach also. For instance these was this thread back in September that found an (elusive at the time) 'chunky' cushion:

And lo and behold it pops up at a PS Vendor's Site with a large markup a short time later...

What was the markup on the $11780 stone from JA as the numbers have changed on GOG?

I think Jonathan has already explained this situation in detail on page 1, and clearly G.C's insinuation was incorrect.

What numbers are you referring to that have changed?

Oh no!!! I just checked in on my stalking diamond, and it said it was put on hold by a customer. Big fat bummer! Must have jinxed myself with my last post. I was really hoping it would stick around until I could afford it.

There''s still the possibility that the person who put it on hold may not buy it. I can post the link after it shows up as sold...still banking on the chance that the person who held it changes their mind!

I lied, I am stalking one right now too for a couple of weeks now, though it will probably sell before I am ready to purchase. I forgot I had boomarked it

I was curious and looked -- the diamond was originally listed as 11780 on JA, but is now around 9800 on GOG, so that clearly isn''t a "huge markup", so the price on GOG must have chaged since GC observed it. This is all besides the point but makes the original assertion by GC a little hard to follow! LOL!

Just to have someone else buy it? That just happened to me and I wanted to co-miserate with someone else :)
oh no, bummer. We can help you find another! I did stalk a OEC ring but then was upset I didn''t buy it when I was in Solvange, CA.

Sorry Jon it was just how I saw it and was frustrated when I was searching for the illusive chunky cushion. I clearly was wrong and apologize.

Thanks giraffe. No hard feelings whatsoever.
