Have a diamond mounted on a 3/4 eternity band?

I'm wondering if this would be possible. To have a head put on the sizing bar of my 3/4 eternity band and use it as the setting for my e-ring diamond. Or would it look like Frankenstein's ring or something? LOL

I've seen such a setting (but not at the sizing bar area) and do not like the look. It looks as though the head / basket is just plopped atop the band. Also depending on the size of the sizing area and the basket, you'll might have a good sized gap of metal before the diamonds start around the band.

Are you trying to utilize the eternity to keep costs down? For the price you could probably find a really simple, classic solitare and wear it with the 3/4 eternity and that look would be gorgeous. To find a solitare it would probably be cheaper then adjusting the eternity.

EDIT: totally off topic but i LOVE your username....I might be biased though at it is my DS's name
