I got them intoday. 25cts of the stuff. I picked out the bluest and cleanest material for my glass vial pendant. I picked about 10cts. My largest stone is about .2cts and my smallest is .05.

Here are the stones I picked from the lot. Pics taken in natural diffused sunlight.

Gorgeous color, I know nothing about hauyne (sp?), can you tell us about it?

Its found in germany (and recently afgan but in more green colors). Supposed to be 'rare' but I have 25cts of it so cant be THAT rare LOL. I dont know a ton about it except large sizes above .25cts are rare and expensive. I saw a 1. something ct one on the internet somewhere for over 10k.

Any other info hauyne specialists wanna share :-P?

It''s a really great color, it almost looks like cobalt sea glass. Does it facet clear or is it opaque/frosted looking like it is rough?

They facet clear. A few of my large pieces are VERY clear, and I am tempted to ship them out to be cut....

RH,
With the largest being 0.2 ct, after faceting, you''ll be left with a 0.06 ct stone at best case scenario. I''m not sure if it''ll be worth faceting. There are a couple that are a dreamy blue though.

Beautiful blue color!

very pretty blue!!

Then ill just leave it in the glass vial (should be here tomarrow).

Wow..that is a beautiful blue!

that blue!

Wow, that color almost looks unnatural, and I mean that in the best way possible - it''s that intense! I agree that cutting wouldn''t be a good idea, but maybe you could try (depending on how tough/durable they are) drilling some to see if you could slide them onto something thin (maybe even a metal neck wire or hoops), like you would some beads. Could be a nice splash of color, and if you have enough pieces maybe a bracelet or a short necklace could be filled. Maybe I''m just talkin'' crazy

That sounds like a cool idea ma re! A hauyne encrusted bracelet! Move out of the way bedazzler.

Just watch Matt's ads aka. red barrels..if you want some cut ones he puts them up about every other week..has been doing that also for over a year now..usually like a parcel of 10 or something..usually sells for like $20-$35..I think they are like .02-.04 or.05 sizes..so if you want some cut ones hugger I would just keep an eye out for when he post some..sometimes he does color suites..from real light to best blue in cut stones..sometimes he does color suites in rough in largfer pieces from lighter to darker....you can't tell me thats not some of the finest blue like i was saying..it is almost unnatural

I may be wrong, but don't you have to stabilize them first to be used in jewelry? Otherwise they are too fragile. This being said - beautiful colors.

I hadn''t even heard of hauyne before about 2 days ago - it''s amazing - it just glows! fabulous.. I would stare at those rough stones all day!

They cant be THAT fragile. I dropped one on my tile floor yesterday and it didnt shatter LOL.

I know, they really glow!! I am just waiting for that pendent so I can dance around the house wearing them. Mailman didnt load my package into the truck, so I called the PO, and they are sending it to me express mail today.

I''m tempted to buy some of those and set them under a quartz carbuncle. That blue is to die for. Could I trouble you to tell me the average mm size of the ones you got?

average is about .07ct, about 3mm.
