Not that long ago it was possible to hunt for weird little diamonds on Etsy and find cool stuff. “Practice” cuts, lab diamonds that mutated, or heat-treatment-gone-wild. Now it seems like everything being sold as a diamond, that doesn’t have a reputable grading report, is coated. Does anyone else get that impression?
I love my small collection of salt-and-pepper, rustic, treated, asymmetrical stones set in silver and 10k gold, but am afraid my days of creative Etsy jewelry design are done. Coating just seems different psychologically than other treatments. It’s always been there but it didn’t used to apply to everything.
Thoughts?
