Yes..but they use antigen tests. She was just tested the other day.
Are they testing her?
update we are canceling our plans we are staying home or only getting together with my son, daughter in law and grand daughter, they are vaxed and boosted THANK GOODNESS!!!!
Fiancee’s BIL just tested positive with no symptoms.
it’s here, y’all. Omicron is here.
I just spoke to my mom. She has a “bad cold.”
She says her throat is scratchy and her nose is running like a faucet. OMG

I'm sorry about this @MamaBee and I'm hoping your mother tests negative. I've read that the antigen test is very accurate for those who have symptoms.
They said it was too early.![]()
If she has symptoms, I don't know that it would be too early to test. I thought that once you had symptoms you should get tested right away. You could call her doctor, or yours, and ask about that. But I'm pretty sure they should test her. It seems to be that Omicron symptoms are very similar to cold symptoms and you need a test to tell the difference.
Yes. We were going to have our in-laws over for Christmas Eve dinner but they decided to stay home since they will have just gotten off a plane from overseas the night before. We also had tickets to an NBA game on the 23rd but attending now seems like lunacy! We sold them on Stubhub (and lost $$$$$$$$$ in the process ).
We also skipped our dear friends' annual Christmas party this past Saturday that we look forward to every year. Better safe than sorry!
That’s good to know @junebug. If she tests negstive on the antigen test on Friday and she feels better..do you think I should pick her up for Christmas Eve? I wish someone would tell me what to do. When you’re close to the situation..it’s hard to know what to do. Anyone please comment.
@MamaBee Hope your mother is negative and her symptoms don't get worse. Keep us posted.
@whitewave Hope your cousin's daughter stays negative and her Fiance' starts feeling better. I'm surprised he has such bad
symptoms after being double jabbed but I guess it depends on how long ago his last jab was, right?
@MamaBee, I would just take it day by day and see how she's doing on Friday. How is she feeling today? I'm so sorry you're dealing with this! Please keep us posted.
Thank you @junebug17. Her nose is less runny today. If she doesn’t have any symptoms on Friday and she tests negative after they test her..I’ll bring her here for Christmas Eve. I would test her again at the home again on Saturday before bringing her here for Christmas. I’m wondering if they’re short on tests there.

As far I understand, once one has symptoms the antigen tests are very accurate. Even the self tests are very accurate, if one administeres them correctly (DON'T POKE UPWARDS, GO BACKWARDS!!)
I know you are worried for everyone's safety!!! Big hugs to you and tons of dust you can spend Christmas with your mom !!
Thinking of both you and your mom @MamaBee. I'm hoping this is just a cold for her.
One of my nieces didn’t test positive the first day she was sick. She had the headache and bad body aches. I believe it was a day and a half after the symptoms started that the test was positive. She knew she had it because her 7 year old had tested positive days earlier.
@whitewave, I hope your family is beginning to feel better.
Ok @MamaBee, hopefully she tests negative on Friday. Keeping you and her in my thoughts, let us know how it's going.
