Has anyone used loosegrowndiamond to set stud earrings?

Hi, I'm gifting pairs of classic lab diamond stud earrings to my mom and sisters for Christmas and it's more cost effective for loosegrowndiamond to set the diamonds into 3-prong martini settings with backings (+$310/pair) than it is to buy the stones by themselves and have my local expert jeweler create them (+$500/pair, which is materials plus $100 setting fee PER stone!). But, I'm not sure if I'll be happy with lgd's quality. Wondering if anyone else has purchased studs from loosegrowndiamond.com and if so, are you happy with the quality? Thanks!

I have set studs at my local jeweler for $195 for 4 prong basket. Could you try a different jeweler? Or a different vendor that sets them in the purchase price? Alex Park?

How large are these stones? It's odd that your local jeweler would have to create the settings. There are so many stock setting available for varying stone sizes. My local jeweler in LA offered to set stones for $200, but I know gold has gone up since two year ago.

Sorry, I wrote poorly -- my local jeweler would order stock settings and then set them. Since I'm not buying the stones from them, they want to charge me $108 per stone just to set them, in addition to the $300 they want for the settings and backings. Seems exhorbitant.
