Excel Diamonds offers what is widely regarded to be an awesome Tiffany setting replica. I can't speak to the pictures on their website, but I have read [I don't recall if it was this forum or another similar one] and seen pictures of that setting and it is indeed a very good replica. Based on reviews of their company I would purchase from them personally.

You might want to use the PS search feature to see if anyone here has made comments about Excel or their setting. There are other vendors mentioned on this site [I think of Whiteflash off the top of my head] that have created rings similar to the Tiffany solitaires and other rings.

ETA: Sorry, I just gave a closer glance to the link you posted. I don't know of anyone who has that specific setting, but considering that their other Tiffany is said to be very good, I would imagine it's high quality. Personally, I don't see anything that would indicate photoshopping on that photo, though I am not an expert.
Here is a topic where someone bought the setting, but they didn't post pictures. It was rather recently. :) https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/excel-diamonds.74128/

I was browsing the net and came across this: http://www.exceldiamonds.com/-Engagement-Rings-5/Tiffany-Novo-Replica-Engagement-Ring-1564.html

I''m not an expert on Excel Diamonds, but the photos of this setting look like they were directly taken from the Tiffany''s site- and it looks like the main photo w/the RB is poorly photoshopped in.

Thoughts????
Agree. They are known for doing very good replicas of the 6 prong Tiffany setting. But this?? Yeah I see exactly what you mean. Not good.

Bored and doing some more sleuthing...

Excel seems to have only rave reviews. Poking around more on their site I see that a lot of their photographs of settings basically suck. It''s not the Novo, but this is a thread on one of Excel''s other Tiffany replica settings by a PSer who was very happy.

Hope that''s helpful. From everything I have ever heard, they do excellent work. I have never purchased anything from them, I am just working from the reviews of people here on PS and other forums.

I agree! It would be a lovely option for someone who wants a Novo setting, but that picture doesn''t look all that good...

Definately ''shopped. The center stone has been ''shopped onto the setting without a doubt. The question would be... is the setting theirs or taken from the Tiffany''s website? The colors are off, but very similar. I''m not sure, but I would like to think they only post pictures off their work. Decide for yourself...

Left - Excel, Right - Tiffany''s

I don''t know enough about photoshop to know if it is or isn''t. but, it looks like a knockoff of the tiffany picture to a tee. why not photograph their own settings with their own backgrounds and lighting instead of copying someone elses marketing design?

I have no idea whether this picture is photoshopped, but I can say that I had a very mixed experience with this company. I bought their 6-prong Tiffany replica. The ring was beautiful and a VERY close copy of the original, but the company was very difficult to deal with when I found porosity (a common manufacturing defect) in one of the prongs. Everything worked out in the end and they took care of me as I believe they should have, but it was not an easy road getting there. Was the ring beautiful? Absolutely. Would I buy from them again? Definitely not.

it looks like the excel pic is in grayscale, which would explain the color difference. i thought the novo was a cushion...since when do cushions have arrows...?

The critical element of the T & Co design are the open gallery zones under the prongs which I have circled in green. Not every jeweler is capable of making the cleanly soldered 4 tips of the center setting meet the small washer at the bottom of the ring. Some "replicas" casually just skip this element and the look from the side is not nearly as pretty. So, I suggest you get a side view of any replica and see if it is as cleanly assembled.

I''ve been looking at this setting too. If you want platinum it''s not much cheaper than $2750 for a 1ct setting vs what Tiffany says''s their Novo starts at $2900. I''ve heard Tiffany doesn''t sell just it''s setting so this must have the smallest diamond ever in it but I guess you could theoretically put bigger diamond in it and have the original Tiffany setting????

Anyway, here''s a side view from Excel of their replica, Looks exactly the same to my untrained eye. http://www.exceldiamonds.com/show_alt_large.php?id=2090&width=450&height=450.

it''s not really a true cushion, more like a square hearts and arrows stone and a patented cut by tiffany''s as far as I know. when folks come here looking for something similar to the novo in cut, we usually direct them to the square H&A''s sold by GOG.

Oh, another thing I wanted to point out about this setting is that it is 2.5mm wide while I am told that the Novo is 2mm or less from those on this site that have it.

My "Novo-like" ring was made by Mark T and Gary at ERD. As far as I can tell it is perfect. When I was in a Tiffany''s store over the holiday, the sales clerk complimented me on my beautifuol novo, even though my cushion is rectangular rather than square. I also have ten diamonds going down each side rather than the Novo eight, but that too was my choice. My ring is 2.3mm wide--again my choice, but I believe the Novo is also 2.3. I will attach pictures which show my head and the cutouts under the prongs.

I''ve seen some pretty ridiculous customer feedbacks on this site before, which I posted back in Nov or Dec. Someone claimed that they had Excel''s Tiffany replica and walked into a Tiffany''s store, was then offered free cleaning, polishing, and even a discount if they purchase Tiffany''s wedding band. As far as I know Tiffany''s doesn''t offer discounts on anything. So I really have my doubts on the stuff that is posted on their website

They have new pictures!!!!

Uh oh... I have a bad feeling about this! I placed my order a week ago, duped by their copying of the tiffany pictures... and now they''ve changed their pictures!!!

Help! Does anyone have an analysis on how the new pictures look?

I think it looks great! I want it!!!! May I ask you if you got gold, platinum, or paladium? Also, please let me know how it looks when you get it. I''m 99% sure this is what I''m getting too.

It also says the width is now 2mm. This is exactly what I''m looking for!

I'm really glad to see they changed the picture for that setting! I know I defended it as possibly not looking photoshopped, but I am not an expert, and I'd never seen the actual Tiffany's picture before. I like that they changed the picture, but I'm sorry if I misled anyone by jumping to conclusions before knowing all the info.

That said, I have seen many positive reviews of the company, for what it's worth. It's too bad that Demelza had such a bad experience.

That said, there's a lot of info on PS about the company's other Tiffany setting, if I remember correctly. It's supposed to be really good... even if I agree with Kissmark that some of the stories are a bit unbelievable. I think it might have more to do with people's exaggerations [if they're not true, they might be, who knows?] than anything Excel has done wrong. People seem generally happy, though obviously that is anecdotal and I personally have not had any experiences with them.

I'd love to see pictures if anyone ends up getting this setting!

I''ll post pics and let you know how it turns out. I went with the 18k white gold - I don''t see the value in palladium or platinum unless the person has a nickel allergy.

Hey guys/gals, those new photos look exactly like the ring they just made for me. I had them set a GOG 1.2ct Square H&A in 14ct WG and just received it yesterday. I wouldn''t be surprised if they photographed it for their site. If Barry or Judah are reading this thread, can you confirm? FYI, I will be taking my own photos and posting on this site as soon as I can.

I''m looking forward to seeing your pictures. Do you like the setting in person? Any info you could give us on quality while you wait to take and post the pictures would be awesome. Thanks!

The ring quality looks very good. So far I'm very impressed with what I see. The only thing I'd like to change would be to stick a 2-3ct rock in it but that won't be for a while.
