I''m having a tough time deciding on what setting to get for my square emerald aquamarine (which should be coming from Jeff White very soon! I cannot WAIT!), but my budget is very low. To be honest, I didn''t want to spend more than $350. At first I was looking at solitaires alone, but my engagement ring is a solitaire (the Vatche X-prong--so really, it''s sort of similar to the setting I posted above, only with much better craftmanship and no diamonds), and I''d love to get a little bling in there.
I really do not want to halo the stone, and I am concerned that most of the settings I''ve seen on ebay have very thick prongs...unfortunately, I do not have a jeweler I trust to refine the prongs like LaurenthePartier does...
I am going a little crazy with this...I am thinking that maybe once I get the aqua I''ll make an appointment with one of the PS vendors in NYC and see what I can do if I see some settings in person. A crooked trellis would bother the HECK out of me (I know this because my DH proposed to me with a very crooked trellis setting and it really drove me nuts, to the point that I had it replaced)...
