Has anyone painted their interior kitchen door an accent color?

We got a new door with a doggie door for our furbabies. Well now I have a chance to have some color fun...maybe?
If you have painted your door an accent color, can you share? Or should I just go with White and keep it neutral? we are getting new flooring so it won't be as dark as the picture below, my wall is a very neutral beige looking. I have a sage green island off to the left of the table.
Excuse the mess... but this is my kitchen nook:

Black or a chocolate brown might be a nice complement to the green island and the yellow chairs. Is there brown or gray in that rug? A slate gray could work, too.

Black might work, as we have these cute black leather studded stool for the island.
Ooh maybe a slate darker gray would work too?

Also I forgot to add that I hope to use the same paint to redo a couple of small cabinets in the bathroom, so I'm almost looking for a 2-for-1 paint color choice.

There is definite gray in the rug.

I wish I had a link for you. I saw pictures of a home that had it's interior doors painted black. I would NEVER have thought to do it, but it looked so chic and elegant, without being over the top formal.

That sounds really cool, I'll have to google it! yeah this space is so not formal as you can see from my yellow chairs :lol-2: its meant to be more fun and casual, but still keep it clean looking.

found some inspiration:

well... I ended up picking up a color in between these two colors, since I am also painting a couple of smaller bathroom cabinets with the same colors... we'll see how it turns out:wacko:

I think picking up that tealish-blue from your area rug would look amazing on your door!

I think so too! The good thing about painting a small area is that it won’t be too much of an effort to change if it looks off... so excited! I’ll come back with an after picture.

One more for the teal blue. But how will it look with sage green? I wouldn't have thought that would go.

The paint I selected has a slight green tint to it as well hopefully it’ll all work out. The thing about the sage island is the black stools actually hides most of the cabinetry and it’s a small enough island that I don’t think will make it look awkward- hopefully

Fingers crossed! I love color, so I'm of the 'the more the better' camp! Photos when it's done, please - this idea has totally inspired me and now I want to do mine, too!!

Please share your picture when you do!

I am very interested in painting my front interior door as well so I'll keep this thread updated with pictures of it when its completed.

I think it's going to be great. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Before and after. I really like the color! although I don't know exactly what it looks like in natural light yet as I started this at 5pm and almost 4 hours later here is the result with LED lighting.
The color is from Valspar line called Stormy Cove from Lowes. Thanks for everyone's input. I would say don't be afraid to paint your doors!:kiss2: I'm going around and looking for another door to paint, maybe to the garage? I already have a barn door in Jackfruit (pretty bright mango yellow)
It would be neat to see what other colors you are painting your doors, please share picture and the name of the paint color.

Yay! When you do paint yours please come back and share pictures.
I love this paint color so much, just finished the bathroom cabinets. It looks a bit more green in the no window half bath.

The paint is bit too dark for my taste to do a whole room but accent walls would be ok.
