Has anyone outgrown their eternity band?

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the look of the eternity bands, but after being married 30 years I don't have the same size finger anymore.

Has anyone had theirs long enough that it doesn't fit anymore and what did you do????

I just got mine, so it still fits . But when me and FI were discussing eternity band options, we discussed the pros and cons of a full circle/half circle. We decided to go with the full circle knowing that I might grow out of it.

Our plan is to reuse the diamonds for another piece of jewelry such as a pendant or another ring.

Mine fits but I don't wear it any more (I've been married 31 years - but bought the band a couple of years ago during a reset/redesign of my rings). I'm sure you could have the stones taken out and remade into a larger ring (with additional stones as needed). I did this with my tennis bracelet. My wrist was smaller way back when my husband gave it to me (10th anniversary) and it was about 6.5" long. Now I need a 7" bracelet, so a few years ago I had the jeweler remake it at that length. It was weird but no additional stones were needed; he said the new setting allowed the stones to be just a bit farther apart.

This is the reason I will never buy a full eternity, it's just not worth the risk to me!

I got one to go with a setting I don't own anymore (it was an awesome ebay find, $100ish, and very cool with alternating square and marquis shapes and millgrain). I lost a bunch of weight last year and now it doesn't come close to fitting, it's huge on me. It is now a thumb ring occasionally, but usually a jewelry box warmer.

Ugh, I'm having this problem now after my second baby. My finger size didn't change at all during my first pregnancy, I only cuoldn't wear my rings for about the last couple of weeks of pregnancy, and then I could wear them again by the time my baby was 2 months old.

Now that I just had my second, I am heavier than I was afte rmy first because I gained extra weight from fertility drugs, so I'm currently 30 pounds above my normal weight, and my son is 11 weeks old. My size 5 rings still "barely" fit, but I think that my fingers may be swollen from all the heat and humidity in our area too. Still, my size 5 rings were loose last year, and now I'm terrified that I've permanently gone up to 5.25, which makes my eternity feel snug. I am feverishly trying to lose this extra 30 pounds, and hoping that then my eternity band will fit again.

This situation especially sucks for me because my husband got me a beautiful sapphire and diamond band from ID Jewelry as a push present that is too tight for me to wear (and it's brand new, but thank goodness it's sizeable), and also I was going to reset my ering this year for my bday next month, but now I have to wait because I don't want to have a ring made and then need it to be sized again after I lose the weight.

It took me 7 months to lost my baby weight last time, so I'm hoping that soon my rings will fit confortably again - I don't want to have to wait that long for my reset!

I have 3 eternity rings and fortunately they all still fit. I have a 14 week old baby and I was back in my rings by 4 week post-partum. Towards the end of my pregnancy, they definitely didn't fit though and I did get worried.

I do have a carre cut eternity band that I recently bought that is about 5/8 of a size larger than my normal size. After buying a round bezel set eternity band that is exactly the size of my e-ring, I noticed it became really tight every summer. I found that I'm a size 4.75 in 2mm rings, 5 in 4mm, and 5.25+ for 5mm+

I don't mind the carre eternity being a bit loose with my engagement ring during the summer, and I'm relieved that I have a bit of room to grow into it should I need to. I haven't worn it through the winter yet, and it may start to bug me if it feels much larger.

Maybe this is specific to the jeweler we bought my ER from but they can resize eternity bands. They explained it was very difficult so most people don't bother? But they said it is possible? Maybe give it a few more months and then look into it?

I wear a diamond and sapphire eternity band on my right pointer finger that my grandmother gave me, I'm considering resizing it if they can. BUT I won't do it unless they have pictures of before and after of ring's they've done.

I'll let you know after I talk to them.

Well, I outgrew my half-eternity ring that I got for our 10th wedding anniversary, so I had it resized. This has happened a couple of times, as I recall. We just celebrated our 34th anniversary, so it has been a while since our 10th. Back when I got that ring it was called an anniversary ring, and you never saw eternity rings, probably because they are difficult to resize. I wore my anniversary band in lieu of my e-ring for many years.

I have several eternity bands that I've purchased in the past few years, partly because I'm hoping my fingers are done with getting larger, and partly because they are so popular just now. But it is entirely likely my joints will enlarge again, in which case most of my eternity bands will probably rest in my jewelry box until I decide what to do with them. I'm sure that for a precious ring, or two, I would take it to the jeweler and inquire about resizing or remaking. I'd want a few pretties that I could wear.

My eternity band is my size still (even after menopause) but it feels different now- a little tight and it scratches my knuckle when I put it on and take it off. I've decided to have the finger side edges buffed a little to help it slide on and off easier. I think that will solve the problem for me.

It's rare, but I have known women who have had two or three stones removed and a piece of platinum added in their place, but you'd need an extremely talented jeweler with a lot of years experience to do this and not damage the rest of the setting. I would entertain that idea only is I were going to the same jeweler for years and years and years.

Mine technically still fits but is too tight for my liking. I got it the same size as my e-ring and really wish I had gone a quarter size up. When i wear them both together they are not always comfortable. In the summer time, when my fingers swell I can't even wear them together. I can't wear it to sleep either. I had a baby a month ago and that didn't help the situation any! Very annoying, i'm in the process of having the setting remade, the next ring will have a sizing bar.
