I was on EBAY yesterday looking on ways of selling my Hearts on Fire diamond and came into this:

I am posting the link of what I saw and have so many doubts about the seller.

I wonder if they are for real ??? Does anyone knows about this diamonds ? I need help ?

And I would very much like to be able to sell my HEARTS ON FIRE too !!!

ok, is it my eyes, or does that look "cloudy" for lack of better description?! and the colour rating was not what I am used to reading. Personally, the only things I/we buy off of Ebay is tupperware/books/children''s items. That''s just MHO.

Diamonds of this quality are a "dime a dozen" on ebay.

This is "frozen spit" stuff. I look at the photo of this guy''s stuff and one word comes to my mind......PUKE!

This is an ugly diamond. It is loaded with feathers and cleavage, and probably has "blasting off" internal strain in the crystal which would certianly be a durability concern.

It has so many inclusions that it would not have the sparkle and dispersion that everyone associates with diamonds.

I noticed that are advertising a grey diamond on their site. A quick look at that stone indicates to me that it is only gray because of the black inclusions that are in it rather than a silver body color.

You''d do better buying a colorless saphirre, or zircon than this stuff.....

An expert would probably conclude that this stone would have a higher and better use on a drill bit.

So you''re concern about this seller is well considered. Plus I see someone bid about $800.00 for this "turkey"..... oh well "there is one born every minute".

I now have the visual to the "frozen spit" quote.

Well in my frozen spit grading system - I have three grades.....

FS-1 Frozen Spit

TFS-2 - Turbo Frozen Spit

PFDS -3 Petrified Frozen Dinosaur Spit

The one pictured I would grad PFDS-3

I hate to say it, but reading your earlier posts about how you traded in another stone for a HOF, I think you should have taken the money that HOF offered you. You won''t get that much selling it yourself because it is overpriced compared to other hearts and arrows stones.

Here''s an interesting one on ebay

NOTE the clarity grade by the seller is SI-3...... and note in the description it says it was heat treated. The photo has a greenish tinit to it, but it is desribed as "white". HMMMMM!

Looks to me like GIA would grade this I-3, and in my FS grading system, would probably be a qualifier for at least one of the Frozen Spit categories.

Even more astounding is that some paid $ 248.00 for this "beauty"......

Ditto, I just read the other thread and I would have taken the $28k they were offering you. You mentioned the first radiant was $15k and then you wired another $20k for the upgrade, so $35k out the door correct...but then you wanted the whole $35k back even though you had already had the $15k radiant well outside of the return period? The $28k they offered would have been about $7k loss which is an expensive 'learning experience' but that is what it would have been.

You will not get $28k on eBay for your HOF...diamonds typically have horrible resale value compared to initial purchase price, especially on a mass consumer site like eBay where people are just looking for bargains. Sure the HOF brand name carries a markup (and yes that's marketing and mark-up) but I don't think that you'll recoup $28k for a 2.20c stone personally. However, your best bet may be to try to have a trustworthy jeweler consign sell the stone for you OR something similar. You could possibly get about 65-75% of the value back that way. But that is still less $$ than the 28k that HOF was offering.

Or you could just keep the HOF which is most likely a stunning stone, and wear it!! Whatever you decide, good luck.

LOL, so true, how they get away with it is beyond me.

I would think that the powers to be at ebay would be appauled at this sort of thing, but guess that would be in a perfect world huh????

Thank you everybody.

First I want to say that I thought the same, "are they real"? Really UGLY !!!!
I was just surprised they could advertise such stones even on Ebay !!! which I was entering the site for the first time due to a posting of another topic in this forum.

Yes, I think for now the best is to keep the HOF, unless Mr. Pearlmann finds a solution, like he always seems too, and we can work out something with this HOF. I truly have never seen another diamond next to the HOF, but Mr. Gary from Jolly´s tells me he has been in business for 33 yrs. and can truly see a difference between the HOF compare to any H & A top of the line triple AGS 000 .
I will have to compare them if I have the opportunity one day to agree with MR. Gary.

Thanks again to you all

hi Caracol,

I was wondering if you had another post about this HoF diamond elsewhere? May I ask why you are getting rid of it?

Thanks!

All you need to do is just call the diamond ''mystic grey'' like the seller did. Who wouldn''t want this mystic grey?

It''s so...mysterious.

Hi Catherin6,
Yes I did have a previous post called> HOF does not honor guarantee- Montica non reputable retailer

After you read my post, you might or may not understand why I do not want to wear this ring.
I was in Miami on vacations and we went by on a Friday to Montica and she sold us the radiant beeing a Lucida ring. Since I had no ideas about diamonds, even less about what a Lucida was. That Sunday we flew back home far away. When I went into the Internet and search for the Lucida ring I found out it was from Tiffany and mine was a copy. I called and left messages on Montica owners cellular phone, telling her I did not want a copy of anything. She never called back and I was far away to sent her the ring back and get my refund in the time I was supposed too. She advertises on her web site a lifetime guarantee and 100 % upgrade policy, and 30 day money back guarantee, but never told me that if I upgraded to a HOF I could not apply any of these guarantees, therefore could not apply for the refund within my 30 days with this new purchase.
I believe HOF are beautiful but after learning all that I have learned here I think branding is to pay to much, maybe on some articles no but on HOF they are way too high.
I haven´t seen the stone compare to another one as Gary from Jolly´s states, I wish I could, but even though I do not believe they are the only perfect stones. I have called AGS to know their opinion, but they are resentless to give any opinion. They only say that they do not know where the stones comes from when they get appraised by them ???????
I believe that HOF have a very strong marketting budget and certainly have nice pieces, but to consider themselves the only ones..... I doubt.
I have learned a lot with this forum. I have learned about the H & A, Eightstar diamonds, Tiffany, Cartier ,,,,,,,,.........
I would really want to wear a ring that I have no bad feelings about, that I might say to myself, it is worth what I paid, and I did not paid adv. etc.. but have the qualityof a diamond worth the money put into it.
I want to give a special thanks to Todd , Goodoldgold, James Allen for all their numerous hours trying to help me.

By the way in the other post someone mentioned that the radiant price a friend had given me that one could buy a 2.42 H SI1 for around $ 10,000.00 was not possible. The radiant I had had a certificate from EGL.
