Has anyone had their setting changed at Tiffany's?

Hello Everyone,

I recently got engaged and my fiancé proposed with a Tiffany solitaire. It was initially the one I wanted but after 2 months of wear I kind of regret my decision. On my first appointment at Tiffany's I fell in love with the brilliant round soleste(halo). It was set lower and more delicate than the knife edge solitaire. The halo had my name written on it but while researching price and value I changed my mind and decided to go with a solitaire because the diamond was bigger for the same price. I also thought that the halo might be out of style in a few years.

I wanted to see if anyone has inquired or had their setting changed at Tiffanys? How was your experience and how much did it cost? Am I better off utilizing their upgrade program?

PS. I also think at the appointments they Brough out bands as well and I loved the embrace band with my solitaire. I think the solitaire needs a band to match.

Thank you so much :)

I love love the embrace band and even more so with the Tiffany solitaire. So classic and imitation is the best form of flattery since so many of us have copied that style.

Tough decision. I’m not a huge fan of halos but the soleste is a special ring.

I’m sure others that have Tiffany wedding rings can chime in.

@jenko88 don't have 2nd thoughts. You got the dream ring! It will never go out of style. Pair it with a diamond band. Please post photos!

I just looked up both rings. I don’t think the other e-ring is lower at all. And I think you would grow tired of that look. You have so many more options going the way you did. And I love the band with it. And you can get other bands as the years go on to switch it up.

I too would keep the solitaire. I have a CVB Jovyn, which is a Tiffany inspired solitaire. I have plain bands, diamond bands, different color metals....the possibilities are endless, and I love that. But thats me! I would really like to see pics of your ring as well!! :appl:

I too would keep the solitaire. You chose it for a reason so I wouldn't second guess it now. It is such a classic look with the ability to be dressed up or down with different bands. Would love to see it!

I think there is a lot of fun to be had with a solitaire by dressing it up with different bands! Maybe you will fall in love again with your solitaire if you get some bands to play around with? I do think the Tiffany ring is iconic for a reason. If you love the soleste style, but decide to keep your solitaire, you can get a soleste with a colored stone and wear it on your right hand. I love the way it looks with a colored stone!

I tried on both of those rings. The solitaire was definitely higher. I love the soleste! Go with your gut!

I agree with BOTH conflicting sentiments:
Go with your gut &
A solitaire is much more versatile.
Good luck deciding!

I LOVE this idea!!!!! :appl:

I think everyone has made great points about the ability to dress up a solitaire. But two phrases leap out at me in your original post: “set lower” and “delicate.” It really sounds like you prefer the look and feel of the Soleste. Just a read on your post! And no, I do not think it will go out of style.

OP, does Tiffany’s let you swop one setting for another? Do you pay for that? How does that work?
