Harry Winston Pave Cushion Cut Advice ?

I am thinking about a Tiffany Legacy but I am leaning towards the Harry Winston Cushion Cut Pave Ring. I need some help about what you guys think about the prices since I have very little knowledge.

I guess the question is, what do you think of the prices? You are paying a premium for the ''name'' in these cases. You can find much better prices if you''re willing to look at non-designer rings. Is having the ''name'' important to you?

ETA: I would definitely go for the second one. No question. Bigger, still colorless, cheaper and the clarity is still great.

If you''re set on the Harry Winston name and they are gorgeous rings. The second one is bigger and cheaper. It''s going to be eye clean at a VS1. Have you seen them both??? What did you think. I love their settings, but they do come at a huge premium which I guess you already know. Cushions are a little tricky IMHO. Can you get us more specs???

You already know that you''re paying a BIG premium for the name (and VVS1 yanks the price up too!!) If YOU''RE ok with the price and the premium, that''s what matters.

I guess I have 2 questions:
1) Is the branding super important (b/c if it''s not, of course, you can go custom for far less money and WAY gorgeous results....SO many gorgoeous custom micropave rings on here (reena, lovey, kaleigh, dazedland......)
2) what about a cushion appeals to you? B/c the tiffany legacy cushion is a step-cut cushion and has quite a different look than the harry winston cushion.

With your budget, you will have a gorgeous ring either way, whether it''s a 1+ ct from T&C or HW, or a 2+ ct going custom w/ a PS vendor.

The name to me is not that important, but for my girlfriend it is a little. I think she understands that you are paying a premium for HW. There is probably some kind of emotional feeling she has because she know HW is a brand name, but she is not totally engrossed with it. I guess the question is, are there other rings that look pretty much the same as the HW or is the HW pave a style that Hwinston does only. Also, another question is; if that particular ring is widely recognized as a HW ring, is it perceived that other rings that look like it are knock offs?

angelainjapen has the HW pave cushion ring. you can read her story and see pics daniel k for some more beautiful rings, but they come with a premium as well. oh, and I'd go for larger stone, F VS1 will be gorgeous.

pave rings have been around forever. chances are no one will no it's a HW ring unless you tell them.
