Hi everyone!

On my most recent trip to our jeweler I fell in love with this beautiful round scalloped halo ring that looked like a flower. The designer was Harout R, which I have never heard of. This was the ring:

I LOVE this style, but the price we were quoted seemed a bit high. Does anyone have any opinions about Harout R? Or know a designer that does a similar setting at a more reasonable price?

I do love Harout R - I know Pearlman's carries this designer and I believes offers a discount to PS members on most items - previously I'd inquired about a Harout R soltaire ring and Pearlman's price quote to me as a PS member was quite a bit better than published prices on other websites - of course, you'd have to check with them directly as to the specific Harout R design you're interested in.

I will mention also that Pearlman's was able to send me a sterling silver sample of the Harout R design I was interested in, and it was wonderful to be able to wear it for a couple of days to help me decide if it was the right setting for me.

Pearlman's is highly regarded on PS both in terms of products and because of its excellent customer service - if you search "Pearlmans" on PS you will find many positive threads and posts on Pearlmans.

My older daughter has a diamond set in a similar Harout R setting--it's the one with the flower halo and two pear-shaped diamond sides; I have a blue spinel set in this setting: http://www.haroutr.com/solitaire_semi-mounts.aspx?styleID=2087

The quality is very good, and the flower halo is extremely pretty.

I personally have not had much luck with Pearlman's customer service, so we bought these settings from a local jeweler who had prices very comparable to what Pearlman's was offering. The settings are offered in plat, 18k gold, and 14k gold. We paid under $1500 for each of these settings.

Harout R is Harout Ritani. He sold out his shares of Ritani a few years ago and started this new line. Good stuff!

I didn't know this and yet I was going to say that it reminded me of a Ritani. I've absorbed more on PS than I realize.

I'm not sure about pricing, but Rahaminov by Forevermark has a similar style ring. I've seen it in person; the scallop halo was much more delicate in person than it looks here.

Me too maccers! I'm thinking of getting a Ritani and when I saw these R Harout settings I really liked them and thought they had a similar look to Ritani. Thanks ecf8503, good to know!

I was going to second that and say they are made by the Ritani guy and are really nice. I am surprised more people on here don't get them, but I think they aren't widely known about. Some of the ones with the patterns in the metal are amazing!!!
