I'll have to dig my emerald out of the safe later, but for now I know there's some gorgeous green on here! Pictures, pictures, pictures!!!

ETA: I decided it wasn't fair to start a thread like this without at least some pics, even if they're old. More/better/new ones later!

Happy St Patrick's Day! Dull weather here in Ireland, but at least it's not raining. What's your weather like and any parades in your area?

Think I'll wear this low key ensemble for the grocery run later (hopefully streets won't be too busy). All antique except the WB.

Beautiful jewelry but I can’t stop staring at the box and that green velvet inside!

I love your engagement ring & setting :kiss2:

Do you have any details & the year it was made?

My sapphire engagement ring—she’s a little blue, a little green, but I always think of her as more green than blue. Dark green is my favorite color and this stone always makes me so happy. Feat. an old knitting project in the background… 91380A33-0F3E-4A96-833C-B3A25EFF5CC8.jpeg

It's not set yet. I have a dozen ideas going in a dozen directions and no decision on the horizon. Sigh.

Fun thread for St. Patrick's Day!

I have more green than I thought.

Top row is emerald necklace
Second row emerald and diamond band and tsavorite garnet / diamond ring
Third row green sapphire diamond accent ring and emerald and diamond ring
Fourth row emerald studs with lab emerald ring in the middle

Absolutely loving all the greens!!!

Update: I added my snake bangle to today's mix to irritate Saint Patrick, haha.

Happened to have to stop in Dublin city centre this evening so I snapped this picture on the Liffey River. Alas the green tourmaline is literally just a speck here, but I was quite pleased that I got a shot of jewellery on the Liffey for once. Usually I'm just hurrying by.

Ahhh thank you! It's a late Victorian/early Edwardian jewellery box made by the luggage company Finnegans, and I'm very very lucky to have two of these from the maker (my other one is burgundy red). The House of Finnegans was founded in 1830 in Britain and they operated in Manchester and London, but the owners were originally from Ireland (as the name would suggest) and were likely descended from Brian Boru, the king of Ireland in the Middle Ages! So I guess it's quite fitting for St. Patrick's Day. =)2

Thank you @Ally T ! I'm delighted that you like it. It's actually not my engagement ring, but I got this last year at an auction in Wales as I was looking for a small diamond solitaire to wear in place of my original ring. It's a bit of a mystery, really, as I can't figure out the hallmarks while usually I know what I'm looking at with British and European antique/vintage pieces. I've been meaning to ask on our antique forum, and will do so as soon as I find the loupe photos that I took. But for now I'm guessing it's late Victorian to early Edwardian, and the gold is 18ct as it's marked as such (which makes me think it's not American as it's "18ct" instead of "18k"). The diamond is an OEC and I need to test the ring head to verify if it's platinum. I'd really like to get it restored a bit and have the stone certed as well, but I've been dragging my feet as I enjoy wearing it too much. :oops2:

And secondly - my peridot and diamond ring was finished by DKJ *today*! So this is fresh off the bench.

2.1ctw in G/H VS diamonds, surrounding a 3.08ct peridot. The photos don't really show the color of the peridot terribly accurately - for some reason it's come up very olive - so here's a refresher of the stone, unset. (It's the big one, second from the right.)

And now the ring!
