Aww, thank you @bling_dream19.
Enjoy your Zoom call @bling_dream19 and I am sorry you cannot see your mom in person. The gift I sent my mom was supposed to get there yesterday but I got an email saying it was delayed and hopefully will arrive by Monday. The times we live in have changed quite a bit these past couple of months. I hope your mom has a special day and I know she takes pride in the fact she has an amazing daughter. Hugs.

You're so sweet @missy thank you for kind words. Just got off a 2 hour zoom! My mom was very happy to see everyone. My card arrived and her gift will arrive Tuesday.
I know your mom is beyond proud of you Missy! You are so kind, smart, caring, thoughtful and loving. Hugs to you friend and hugs to all moms, furmoms, and those who mother.

I agree. What a beautiful picture of you both! @stracci2000 does she love vintage things like you? Your mom is beauty and so are you.

Thanks! She says she has good genes.
And yes, Mom and Dad collect of all sorts of things. Mom likes Depression glass and jewelry. Dad likes crocks, antique furniture and militaria.

Happy Mother’s Day to all! Here’s a picture of me and my super young looking 70 year old mom. She is the best mom ever, and really like my sister. I FaceTime her almost everyday because we live on opposite sides of the world. C85D34B6-474A-44A1-B36C-DDB5B1D15181.jpeg

My mom & I on my wedding day. One of many fond memories I have and keep close to my heart.
She passed away 12/23/2019.

This was my first Mother’s Day without her.
We practiced social distancing, yesterday, and took a drive to our old neighborhood, where DH & I grew up, and where I raised my son for his first 5.5 years, prior to moving to where we live, now.
It meant a lot to visit our old stomping grounds, order pick up at the local pizza shop we both enjoyed as teenagers, and walked the trails of the park we called ours, as kids.
No matter where our lives take us, and where we may live, that neighborhood will always be “home”.

@missy,
This is a beautiful thread, your poem is beautiful, and filled with positivity, and inspiration. Thank you for that silver lining.
The photo of you with your mother is precious. You are most certainly twins!
To all who have lost their mothers, take comfort in knowing your misery has company, and you are not alone.
I was fortunate to have my mother for nearly 80 years, in spite of the Alzheimer’s that stole her from me. I lost my father at the age of 6. To lose a parent is difficult, but losing the only surviving parent I had, the woman who raised me by herself, sacrificed everything for me, and who was my entire world, rocked me.

All that I am, I am because of her.

Big hugs and lots of love to all who share in that pain.

DH & I sent cards to my mother-in-law, sent texts, and spread virtual love.
Looking forward to seeing her, in the near future.

I hope all mamas had a beautiful and meaningful Mother’s Day.
That road trip to our old neighborhood made my day special and enjoyable.♥️
