Corrected subject line: Happy Holidays Rhino! BTW ... what exactly is "morganite"?

Happy Holidays Rhino!

While browsing this forum, I spotted these photos of a peridot/morganite necklace and drop earrings in your photo gallery - - coincidentally, my birthstone is peridot and I have a daughter named Morgan (she is my only daughter - - very close to my heart ...)

The necklace and earrings depicted look like they were made for Morgan and I ... I''m more than curious: what is "morganite"? Are these pieces something you sell in your store? If so, are they custom-made? Where can I get more info ...

Sorry, I''ll have to post the photo link in a separate thread, but you probably already know what I''m talking about ...

In any event, we hope you have a wonderful holiday with your family. Please know that you made our holiday extra-special this year ... it''s about so much more than the solasfera diamond we recently purchased from you!

And here''s the photo link to the peridot/morganite necklace:

These are just gorgeous, and I swear, it seems like they were made for me!

Any additional information you can provide (including pricing, if appropriate) would be greatly appreciated!

In the meantime, have a wonderful holiday with your family!

Hey Matatora! Merry Christmas ... thanks for the additional info ...

My daughter Morgan was just looking over my shoulder at the peridot/morganite jewelry. We are in the library on the computer and she yelled into the kitchen where my husband is standing: "Dad ... you better start saving your money for more jewelry ... Mom''s obsessed!"

A peridot/morganite jewelry combination would indeed be very special to us ... thanks again for the additional info and have an extra-special, just-engaged holiday!

OK - so as I showed my husband the peridot/morganite jewelry, my 10 year old son walked-in, saw the jewelry on the screen and said: "Oh boy, Dad - - I think you''re going to have to shut-down the internet now!"

Merry Christmas to all! And a peaceful, healthy and blessed New Year!

Your children are very funny! What is your sons birth stone and your husband’s? Could you have something such as this custom made with your children''s yourself and your husband stones? A true family piece?

Drop Tim an email at [email protected] and he can forward you more data on that pair. Morganite (as I recall) is a member of the "Beryl" family. Green Beryl is Emerald. Blue Beryl is AquaMarine and and the Pink flavors are your Morganites (not to be confused with the Hatfields and McCoys

Awesome. Your post is perhaps the best one I''ve read before heading out of the store today. There is no greater feeling than being able to help folks during this special time of their lives and we are honored to have played the small part we have. Thank you kindly.

We''ll look out for your email and have a grand holiday season Brown eyes.

All the best from all of us here at GOG,
Jonathan

Hi again Matatora ...

Yes, my children are funny. In response to your question, all 3 of their birthstones are sapphires, and I therefore have lots of beautiful sapphire jewelry including a "Lady Di" - like oval sapphire ring surrounded by a halo of diamonds. Someday I may post a photo of it ...

When I showed the peridot/morganite earrings to my husband and shared how the stones could represent me and my daughter Morgan, my husband asked, "Well what about representing me and the boys with jewelry?" . So here''s what I have to offer in response:

My husband and my oldest son (age 16) are both named Peter which means "rock" as in diamonds ...

My youngest son''s name is Preston - while I couldn''t think of a stone to represent him, those pearls that dangle off the earrings would do quite nicely. Preston has a very round little head, and usually sports a HUGE grin ... in fact, if I was to draw a smiley face on those pearls that dangle off the earrings, they would look JUST like my youngest son! This actually looks quite a lot like Preston!

Again, Merry Christmas and thanks for all of your input!

Morganite & peridot sounds like a brilliant match!

Morganite is not too expensive even in very large stones... and often the color is very pale. Some examples of deeper pink are known but rare. Anyway, the usual large stones in powder pink are very stryking, IMO.

With yellowish green peridot - youd get the perfect set of spring colors.

E.g. 17 cts and 7 cts morganite.

And two concave faceted ones (~7 and 13 cts):

Like all beryl. these pink ones are notterribly brilliant, but... these concave cut guys seem very eager to prove otherwise!

I have never looked for concave cut morganite - equally pale aquamarine did look quite impressive though and there can''t be much difference aside color.
