Halo question: melee size?

I'm going to reset my ring to Halo.............
I'm in a process of deciding the detail, but not sure what size melee to use around my diamond.
I have 4.27AVC, and initial CAD was made with 1.3mm melee..........is this too big?
I'm looking for the delicate, no metal look on a ring. I've bee MIA from PS for so long, now I'm not sure what I should really request to the jeweler of what kind of Halo I want lol.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!

I'm so surprised you haven't gotten any responses yet! First, welcome back! I looked back at your SMTB thread and wowzers, your AVC is absolutely stunning!!!

I would honestly leave the halo size up to the creator and would recommend Victor Canera or (who already made your solitaire) Steven Kirsch. Both of them have truly mastered the micro pave halo. @m-2-b has her 4.7 ACA in a VC halo and her stunning AVC (5+ carats) in a SK halo. And here's what m2b had to say about the differences btw the 2:

--VC tilts his halo around the center stone
--Less metal can be seen from the edge of the VC halo on profile view
--VC's pave is completely smooth--feels like I am not even wearing a pave piece!
--Deeper grooves can be seen with SK's shallow cut pave compared to VC's
--VC's prongs are slightly thicker, SK's prong's are sharper/thinner in appearance

I can't spend much for the setting at this time, so I can't go to VC or SK route.

Totally understandable! Then I'd recommend getting in touch with David Klass and specifying that you'd like a quote for his "Uber bench" which @mrs-b just used for her amazing 4ct ACA diamond! Otherwise, Brilliantly Engaged has done very nice halo/metal work. You could also try Maytal Hannah but I also think she's pricier.
