I’d appreciate any help you folks can offer. I bought a vintage Diana style ring from a great vendor - no worries about the stones or metal being real.
But it has a hallmark on the outside of the shank that is baffling to me. I’m only aware of the French and Russian as nations that mark the outside of rings. I can’t see any other hallmarks but if the ring had been resized, they’d likely had been lost.
The hallmark is an oval cartouche style and it rather high on the shank, that’s why I think it’s survived. My gut thinks perhaps an import mark, but my normal sources for info on things like this has left me empty handed.
