:wavey:Hello!!
I have recently started looking for an "end of the alphabet" diamond to make into a solitaire ring in a yellow gold setting.
Specifically a round or cushion old mine or old euro cut in the 4 carat range.
I contacted Adam at Old World Diamonds to see if he had anything that would fit my bill.
He said he had a few things that might and I should come on over.
I happened to be near 47th street today so that's just what I did!
He couldn't have been nicer. So pleasant and friendly. Showed me one wowzer after another.
First one was already set in a simple yellow gold setting.. that was an EGL Euro round 4.68 carats M color SI2.
Second was a loose GIA 3.98 old mine cushion 3.98 carats UV color VS1.
So many nice choices.. only 10 fingers.
Thanks Adam! I will consider all of these.. and let everyone enjoy the fabulous facets as well.

Sounds, and looks, like a very fun time!

Oh so I’m so jealous! I haven’t made a NYC shopping trip yet. Thanks for sharing the gorgeous stones!

He was so helpful when Missy and I visited, selected some beautiful stones for me to look at. I don‘t think you could go wrong with either of those.

Oh what fun!

What a fun trip! Can't wait to see what you choose!

Oh my - green with envy! Yummy - I especially love that OEC but that is what I am partial to and don't think you can lose either way

Thanks lizzydm26, lulu_ma, Austina, Catmom, AllAboardTheBlingTrain, diamondseeker2006, and Cerulean for sharing the smiles.
I think I'm a bit more partial to the round one.. maybe because that's one shape I don't own except for earrings..
Also because since it was set it looked MUCH bigger than the cushion.
However.. the facets on the cushion were more captivating in person than the round.
Both good choices.. not finished with my hunt yet..

HI:

WOT????!!!!!:kiss2: I think I was near 47th street today also, but in another country! Sorry I missed you!

Life is short....get them all!

cheers--Sharon

What fun!

Sooooo fun!

Oh man that looks like a fun time. Love them both but the OEC speaks to me.

I'm so jealous! =) That would have been so much fun!! :appl:

Oh, how fun! This makes me want to plan a trip to NY!

Love them both but from these photos I’m partial to the Old Euro.

So glad you enjoyed a wonderful visit with Adam @Rubies-R-Me. He is a class act. Cannot wait to see what you might end up getting. They are both gorgeous.

:wavey: Thanks Tourmaline, petrock<3, RunningwithScissors, GeorgieQ, Tonks, and missy!
Yes.. it was super fun and so nice that I could see the stones in bright daylight by the window to really see what the color was.

What a fun trip! Both are beautiful! I look forward to seeing what you decide!

Who's got the paper towel to wipe the drool off my keyboard? anyone?

Wow! I also love the round OEC! Please post an update when you make the big jump. We can't wait to see!

:wavey:Thanks Cushioncutnut, blingmeup scotty, and Sprinkles&Stones for sharing the fun@
Laughing about the paper towels needed for the keyboard.

Rubies, love that you had a great time at OWD. Adam's inventory is out of this world. Keep on the hunt. It's fun!

Yes! Thanks LLJsmom! The hunt is half of the pleasure. :D

Oh so jealous. I had planned on visiting OWD early May but my plans changed and we didn’t end up staying in NYC as long as I thought I would.

Oh darn! That is disappointing! Ah well.. you will have to come back to NYC again soon!
