Currently comparing the H&A diamonds vs. a Very Good quality. For about .15ct larger of a diamond I am able to buy the very good GIA rated diamond. Is it better to get the H&A and give up .15 ctw or buy the Very Good and have a larger diamond?

I would look for an ideal cut (not only H&A) because you'll get more bang for your buck. An ideal cut will give your more sparkle and life then a very good cut diamond so it will appear larger overall. What color and clarity are you looking considering? You can easily go G, H or I and VS2 in an ideal cut diamond and not sacrifice quality or appearance.

I was looking at the G/SI with either the Ideal or Very Good. In your opinion the Ideal 1ct is more valuable than a Very Good 1.15? I wanted to stay around the 7500 price range.

Case by case.

Can you post the grading reports? Any idealscope image, h&A image?

A G Si is a good combo as long as the diamond is eye clean. I wouldn't say one diamond is more valuable than the other - I would just say I'd rather have the performance of an ideal cut diamond than a slightly larger very good cut diamond. Cut is the most important feature for me. Not to say a very good diamond isn't pretty - they are gorgeous diamonds too.

Not enough information. Ask for the report numbers.

You will have to pay to call in those stones at BGD if you don't end up buying them. It can get quite expensive to do this for a few stones, do you see any in-house stones you like?
Here are a few:
http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-SI2-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1362922.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131 it's an H.

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/G-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1255553.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131 can't tell if this would be eye clean to your specs by the magnified picture but it might not be.

You don't actually have to purchase the diamond and the setting from the same vendor either. Many will allow you to purchase the setting and have it shipped to have the diamond set into, so don't give up a great diamond because they have the particular setting that you are looking for. Cushion halos are beautiful!!

forgot to mention, I'm loving the WF stone that was posted, but would like to see more info on the BGD

This is actually the ring Ive been trying to find(below link). The estimates have all been around 3k. If I am able to find the ring a bit cheaper I would definitely be able to match a diamond from another store. I have been to a local B&M store and was able to get him down to 11k out the door for the ring, band, and 1.15 VG/VG/VG G SI1 diamond. Wanted to see if I could beat that price.

You would have to tell us more (the specs) about the stone to really tell if you are comparing apples to apples.
And did you say this price also included the wedding band?

EDIT - your original comparison "H &A vs VERY GOOD" is not comparing apples to apples. H&A is a matter of percision
but doesnt necessarily mean all the angles are working well together. Thats why Marcy said that you need to be looking for
an Ideal cut stone (with or without H&A). Hope that makes sense.

You can read about diamond cut here(I dont know if anyone has posted yet because I cant scroll in edit mode)...
