Hello all, I have been reading information/posts on this forum for a long time now and have learned a lot. I recently purchased a diamond and received it today. I am scheduled to go to an independent appraiser tomorrow. First, can you tell if this diamond is H&A just by the numbers? They all seem to fall within the acceptable ranges to me (even the star length and lower girdle length). Second what information should I get from the appraiser? They say they have a Sarin as well as an IdealScope and ASET but cannot print images with the latter two. Thanks!

Measurements: 8.10 - 8.14 x 5.02 mm
Cut Grade: AGS Ideal 0
Carat Weight: 2.034
Polish: Ideal
Symmetry: Ideal
Table: 56.5%
Crown Angle: 34.8
Crown Height: 15.0%
Girdle: Faceted, 1.7% to 3.9%
Pavilion Angle: 40.9
Pavilion Depth: 43.2%
Star Length: 54%
Lower Girdle Length: 77%
Total Depth: 61.8%
Culet: Pointed

No, H&A is a measure of optical symm which cannot be seen from average numbers from a grading report.

To see if the stone is a H&A, ask the appraiser for a H&A viewer to see the image yourself.

Hi Koar

H&A patterning is the result of superior optical symmetry and precision cutting, the overall proportions are more significant to light return. The diamond in question has excellent basic proportions but really no way to tell if it is in fact h&a without images.

A H&A viewer is needed in order to judge whether the stone is h&a, see if your appraiser has a hearts viewer and skill in evaluating these diamonds.
