I was in the market for a princess cut at first but when i saw the cushion cuts. I think i like it more with the rounded soft corners. So i went to check out GOG with the vintage cushion. its nice But i think i like the 8 main pfacets and modern cushion like hearts and arrows. I check out brian gavin signature cuhsion they have some in a a carat range with high color and clarity and way out of my budget. Also try to ask GOg about brellia they said dont make a carat no more. Then found bluenile signature cushion. Just i don't know how good they perform. Is the bluenile signature cushion up to par with brian gavin and brellia cushion?

Thanks

For some reasons if you click the link is not showing the diamond. Here' a link of all them need help which will perform best out of 7.

Just copy paste the link into the new browser or click and open a new tab. and all 7 will show up. Thanks guys.

For some reason your links didn't work for me, all of them just end up on the BN.uk home page... still, as I am a big fan of BN Signature Cushions (I have a pair of half-carat Signature Cushions, and bought and returned two larger Signature Cushions), I checked out the stones on your list.

http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD05261061
1.01ct H-SI1 - table 58% and crown 14.4% - faces up not square at 5.8x5.77mm (which would bother me but I'm picky that way) - inclusion plot says two pinpoints on the table which I can't see on the GCAL images but, coupled with the not-square and that you have other solid choices, I'd probably remove this as a viable contender.

http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD05261072
I like this 1.03ct H-Si1 - but the comparatively larger table at 58% and lower crown at 14.1% when you have other solid options would also remove it from my short-list.

http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD05351266
1.00ct G-SI1 - based on the GCAL images, probably not eye-clean so I would eliminate it as a potential candidate.

http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD05261067
* 1.03ct H-SI1 - table 58%, crown 14.3%, faces up 5.9mm - I do really like this one - it is lovely in person - I had actually purchased it some months ago - here's a link to my thread on it https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/update-switched-out-to-bn-sig-cushion-yay.209835/

http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD05436702
This 1.02ct H-VS1 is all right but for me I prefer the faceting on most of your other choices over this one (don't care for the very center area). Table 58%, crown 14.3%, faces up at 5.88mm.

http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD05436694
* 1.00ct G-SI1 - love the small table (55%) and high crown (15.7%) on - even though there are lots of twinning wisps on the inclusion plot, I think it would be eyeclean - though it faces up the smallest of all your choices at 5.74mm square, I'd put this on my short-list for sure.

http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD05351271
* 1.13ct I-VVS2 with a 56% table and 15% crown - it also faces up the largest of all your choices at 6mm square - this would be on my short-list.

For me, the 1.00ct G-SI1 (LD5436694) would be my first choice - even though it faces up 5.74mm, it is a true square, but more importantly it has a small table/high crown combo and a lovely facet pattern.

My 2nd choice would be the 1.03ct H-Si1 (LD05251067) since I've actually seen it and know it is a beautiful diamond (honestly, even now I sometimes regret the return)

My 3rd choice would be the 1.13ct I-VVS2, but frankly I'd choose the 1.03ct H-SI1 over the I-VVS2 simply because the 1.03ct faces up just a smidge smaller at 5.9mm and I know it is beautiful.

Hope this helps!

Re: Gypsy/Charmypoo and cushion experts need help with cushi

Thank you so much marrymm for the advice and narrowing it down to the best 3 that you think. I really appreciate it.

I choose those based on the gcal images cause i wanted the look of the arrows in the tables. Not like the others that's why i picked them to compare. I like my cushion to be square looking like you wanted it to be.

So how was the 1.03 H si1 perform while it is in your possesion? Is it sprkly and does have a great fire, brilliance and light return? Is it eye clean? Do you have more pictures of it in person. I would love to see it. Thanks

About the 1.13 I vvs2 would you notice the size difference beteween that and the H 1.03 Si1?

While browsing at brian gavin i saw this one they just added this one today. I just want to know what do you think compare to the top 3 you pick from bluenile.

Re: Gypsy/Charmypoo and cushion experts need help with cushi

^ speaking only for myself, I prefer the shape and arrows of the BN Signature Cushions as compared to BGD's cushions.

As a side note, feathers as the grade-making inclusion in an SI2, especially when they're in the corners of a stone, generally makes a stone a no-go for me.

IMHO the 1.03ct H-SI1 BN cushion that I bought and returned was a real beauty - I thought it was bright and lively, and quite white especially for a near-colorless diamond, and the face-up size to me was enough at apx 6mm. [I returned it only because I was still exploring shapes and colors and didn't really know what I wanted] I found one more decent pic of that stone which I don't think posted in the thread I had linked to.

Talking face-up size only, I would consider a 5.9mm and a 6.0mm basically the same. I think the 1.13ct I-VVS2 is maybe a bit deeper than the 1.03ct H-SI1, and if you had both diamonds loose in your hand, you'd like notice the .10 carat difference in weight, but once set into a ring, I don't think there'd be a noticeable difference between 5.9mm and 6.0mm.

Nice cushion marymm (even though you returned it)! Love the arrows!

Malossi168 - my next comment is purely a personal preference thing but when I was researching cushions, I spent a lot of time staring at the Brian Gavin H&A version. I did not move fwd with it though because I thought the edges were too straight versus softly curved like with OMC cuts. I thought since your initial preference was a princess, if you like BG's H&A, that may be a great blend of the two shapes.

Malossi168 - I found a pic of a mounted BGD H&A cushion, 3.06ct J color I think, if you'd like to see how the sides resemble a princess. I tried it on but thank goodness it didn't fit or I'd have been even more tempted to buy it on the spot vs researching options.

Re: Gypsy/Charmypoo and cushion experts need help with cushi

Marrymm thank you for posting another picture is beautiful and faces up white. Is it eye clean on your observation? Im liking it already based on your recomendation since you've owned it for a while already and have the chance to obsverve how does it perform. You know better. Given a chance would you buy it again or get your new first pick the G si1?

UrsTx you got a good point there about the BGD H&A cushion looks like a princess on the side but its a cushion.

The BGD that i posted its nice but base on marrymm recomendation about being a Si2 and the inclusion on the edge is not a go. You ladies know better than me. I asked about it and they said it eye clean.

Now i am confused between the BGD and bluenile cushion they are both beautiful. Does the bluenile cushion up to par with the light performance of BGD cushion?
