Guidance please regarding diamond stud earrings

I’m just loving everyone’s diamond earrings and I’m feeling the need for a pair. A few months ago my home was burglarized and EVERYTHING taken, including a pair of .76 princess cut diamond stud earrings. So I’m considering buying .72-.80 cttw round cut ideal, J color, VVS2 ( since they face up larger than the princess cut I previously had), from Blue Nile. I also would consider an Old European cut, if I could come across some. I’ve found a pair of 1ct mine cut but they seem wonky/ uneven so I’m not sold on those. My question is do I buy from Blue Nile or keep searching for an old European cut? Or not upgrade at all, since I have a nice pair or earrings, however not diamond solitaires. Shouldn’t everyone have diamond earrings? Diamonds seem to have a different fire to them a sparkle like no other. Am I’m being crazy? Should I just be happy with what I have? Here’s my everyday earrings for reference. I promise I’ll be painting my nails today so please don’t judge me lol

I was thinking 2,000 for this purchase. I wear a pair of earrings everyday usually these or a pair similar even if I’m not going anywhere. These studs are large not sure exact measurements but I don’t think they sparkle as much as a good diamond. I’m not sure .80 will be sufficient but I’m willing to wait a bit longer to get a larger pair.

I'd suggest reaching out to IDJ for a pair of GIA Js, eye clean SI at the max size you can get for stones and setting at $2,000.
