I have posted my ring here before so if you search you can find the answer, but I would like honest guesses to settle a disagreement with my hubs. I say my ring looks its size, he disagrees. For reference my finger size is a 5 but as you can see, my knuckles are larger than my fingers.

I'm not very good at this, but I'd guess the center stone is 2.5 carats, maybe a little under?

That was my guess too.
 
I'm going to guess over 2.5 - maybe 2.75?
 
I'm really bad at this but my first thought was 3cts? I'm probably thrown off by the halo :)
 
The stone to me looks 3cts and the halo makes it bigger.

My emerald is 3.66 and it looks close even though its a different shape so my guess

3.45
 
2.75 to 3 carats is my guess but I'm really thrown by the ring size as there is a big difference in size between your knuckle and where the ring rests.
 
If your knuckle is the size five part, I'd say 2ct. If your phalange is size five, 2.5ct. At first glance it looks like 3ct. Either way, nice!
 
I'm guessing 3 carats.
 
It's so hard to tell with a halo - I'm trying to mentally picture how much more skin I would see if the halo wasn't there. :lol:

I would guess between 2-2.5 carats. It's beautiful.
 
Well in regards to your argument. Its impossible for something not to look the size it is ;)

Im bad with this. But is it that he just thought diamonds were bigger?
When I first whent and tried on a ring I was surprised at the size of a ct. Everyone talked about that as being so big I expected it to look much larger on my finger. I forgot it was still just a little rock lol. Maybe he think it SHOULD be bigger, based off how people talk about the size of that ctw..

I dunno. 2.5?

I didn't see that your ring size is 5. I am changing my vote to 3+ carats! It looks huge, honestly!
 
I know the size, because I was actually just looking at some older posts of yours...but I just want to say that this ring looks great on you! I was hoping to see more pics of it, so thanks for posting another one! :)
 
Size 5 with a halo? Hmmm. I will say 2-2.25cts.

You guys are all very very good. And I win the argument. It is 2.29. He said it thought it looked small. Strange man. I think it looks the wrong size. He says all the time that people must think he didn't know what he was doing. I love it and I picked it out so just trying to quell his annoying comments. I think any bigger would look too big at this stage in my life career. Later definitely.

Interesting, what size does he think it looks like? It definitely doesn't look small to me!

See I think its the idea that everyone says 2+ ct is big and he paid a 2+ct price. I think he was expecting "more"
I think its more of his expectations of what 2.25 would look like. Its not as big as he thought it SHOULD be
 
No way does that diamond look small on you! It looks huge...what is your husband basing his opinion on? Has he compared this stone to others? Maybe he just expected a 2+ carat to look really, really big! What is the mm measurement? You could prove you point even more by showing him a diamond millimeter chart. I tend to go by that measurement to judge the size of a diamond, and a chart will show him what your size stone should measure at.
 
Judging by the coverage it looks like it is over 9mm, so at least a 3 carat, but my exact guess would be 3.5c. Does the closest win a prize?
(I was measuring on my 5 1/4 finger to guess the mm coverage.)

Oops just saw your post on the size...LOL! yes, it looks large...and what do guys know about diamonds and finger coverage anyway.
 
You couldn't fit a much larger diamond on that finger! But the halo really makes it look a lot larger than 2 cts!
