And so is DH, and it''s all my stupid boss''s fault!!!
29.gif

I''m a paralegal and I work at a law firm with five attorneys. Two of those five attorneys are my direct supervisors. One of them, "J," has his office right next to mine. It seems like J is sick ALL THE TIME, and he DOES NOT COVER HIS MOUTH when he coughs and sneezes!!! SOOOO gross!!!
emotion-41.gif

Anyway, J was coughing and sneezing a lot last week, and I thought, "Oh great . . . he''s probably going to get me sick for Christmas." And, sure enough, DH and I both had a sore throat yesterday, and now we''re all congested. This really sucks because I''m off until Monday, January 5, and I was hoping to actually ENJOY it.

Sorry, just had to vent.
7.gif

Ewww! That really sucks
8.gif
I hate when people are so inconsiderate. I''d start taking Airborne if I were you!

Ugh, I am sorry on your behalf! What is the proper way to ask someone not to spray virus laden saliva all over the workplace? Can''t they cough into their elbows or something? Doing it into their hands is also gross because then they touch everything. This is why I always stay home when I''m sick. It''s good for me and good for the company! This way, no one gets sick!

Thanks, guys!

Monkey, I thought about taking Airborne too! I mentioned it to DH, and he is very skeptical of that stuff . . . he doesn''t think it works. But, I figure it can''t hurt, right???

Bliss, LOL at the asking someone not to spray virus-laden saliva all over the workplace! I wish I could just SAY that to him! He''s such an inconsiderate jerk sometimes. I really don''t think he means to be that way . . . he just doesn''t know any better I guess.

Depending on what the disgusting person is spraying all over the office, it can help. Of course, it''s mostly meant for colds and the like. It''s worth a try to at least prevent it a little while.

That sucks that you guys are sick. I'd try the ariborne.. I hope it helps. Maybe buy a pack for your boss, once you get back to work.

I hear airborne works wonders! So sorry you are under the weather.

HA! I am SOOOOO going to tell DH that you guys are all recommending Airborne! I love it when I''m right, because it happens so rarely! LOL!

Kaleigh, LOL at buying J a pack of Airborne when I get back! I wonder if he''d take the hint . . . he''s pretty thick-headed.

Irishgrrrl: lots of viruses are around these days.I would take Advil cold to help out with the symptoms.I took Airborne and it did not help.I think you need to take it just as you get first symptoms.?? Anyway hope you get better soon.Hopefully you can sleep the night away.Don''t forget to take lots of fluids too.

If you wanna see a big baby, you should talk to DH! Whenever men get sick, it''s like they''re dying!

Thanks, Scarleta! We don''t have any Advil Cold, but we have some Nyquil, so I''ll probably take some of that and try to get some sleep!

Eeeeewww... That's so gross, not to mention inconsiderate. Try giving him a box of lysol or clorox wipes for Christmas... Maybe he'll get the hint!

ETA- Have you ever tried a nasal rinse? I know it sounds gross, but it really does help! It clears out your sinuses, and also creates a hostile environment for viruses and bacteria. (They cannot survive in a high saline environment.) Check your local pharmacy.

ACK!!! Supa Granny is sick!!! I''m so sorry you and your DH feel so nasty. I hope you feel better soon.

Do you like tea?? I drink hot tea with honey, when I have a sore throat, it does help a little.

Feel better sweetheart

and get plenty of rest.

Love, the other Supa Granny
Linda
xoxoxoxo

Tuckins, I have never tried a nasal rinse, and it DOES sound gross, but at this point I''m pretty desperate! LOL! DH is going to get us a humidifier today, so maybe that will help?
33.gif

Thanks, Supa Granny Linda! I''m not a big hot tea person, but I do like cold sweet tea. Maybe I''ll drink some of that today and see if it makes me feel any better. I''m DEFINITELY going to get some rest, though! My only plans for today are to stay in my PJs and sleep as much as possible! LOL!
24.gif

Irish, I''m so sorry your sick! Boo hoo! especially since you have time off.

I''m afraid there''s not enough of anything in Airborne to really help people. I''ve read a lot about it''s effects being psychological.
Zinc however, is medically proven to shorten the duration of the common cold. (My husband takes it with no problem, but it bothers my stomach) Also, Zicam which is zinc nasal spray. That should help. The reality is that there''s really nothing that will cure a cold, just things to make you more comfortable while you have it. Get some rest, rent lots of movies, drink lots of tea and soup, and snooze whenever you feel sleepy. Sleep helps to heal the body better than anything else.

Thanks, Gemgirl! We do have some Zicam . . . maybe I''ll give that a try. And I''m definitely going to do a lot of sleeping over the next few days, that''s for sure!

Sorry twinkie!!

Feel better sweetie!

xoxo

Being sick sucks. I should know. I''ve had a visit from The Crud twice since Thanksgiving.

I feel for you, babe. I do. Chin up. (We don''t want any drool dribbles on the keyboard ''cause you''re breathing through your mouth!)
28.gif

So sorry to hear about your inconsiderate boss and holiday illness - that''s no fun at all
7.gif

As an immunologist, I have to agree w/ your DH that Airborne = not so useful. But what does help, if you can manage it, is as much fresh fruits and veggies as you can manage and tons of fluids. That plus some mild to moderate exercise (if you don''t have a high fever and/or stomachache) can help get you back on your feet as quick as possible
2.gif

Irishgrrrl:hope you are feeling better?

Coaties ~ Thank you, twinkie! How''s the paw feeling?
40.gif

Holly ~ Sorry you''ve had The Dreaded Crud! No fun, is it? Of course, on the bright side, I''m not totally alone since DH has it too . . . misery loves company! LOL!
2.gif

Amber ~ Thanks for the info! I don''t know if I can deal with the exercise just yet, but the fruits and vegetables and fluids sound like a good plan! I''m starting to get hungry again!
18.gif

Scarleta ~ I''m definitely feeling better today. Yesterday was pretty nasty, but I can actually BREATHE today, so that''s a definite improvement! LOL!

Thanks again for the sympathy, guys!
