Peter just posted his new gemstones and look what I got!!!!

Here is his description:

Grossular Garnet 1.36ct., 6.62x6.59x4.26mm. Near-colorless. Asscher square. This garnet has an extremely pale, very slightly greenish yellow body color. It is almost completely pure grossular garnet (almost a leuco garnet). The color is highly unusual for a grossular, making this a rather rare stone. The small black speck in the middle is a reflection in the photo, not an inclusion.

I''m SO excited!!!

Lori

Yay, beautiful!!!

Due to the size, slight yellow tint, and the high dispersion of grossularite, I bet that will look like a diamond!! Enjoy!

Yum, beautiful stone!

I would have thought you''d need a whack of andradite in there to give diamond-like dispersion eg a grandite like a mali garnet?

Dispersion similar to that of a tsavorite is what I would expect, especially with a stepcut - so sparkly but not fiery.

Looks like a pretty stone!

Wow I love that!!!

Have you seen that asscher tsav he has just listed? It is to DIE FOR!!! If only I had $1600!

Oh wow! Really looking forward to your own pictures of it! So pretty!

What a lovely gem Lori!Stunning

Certainly a rather unusual stone. I’m very curious as to how it appears in person.

I hope you don''t waste any time in setting that stone!

Very pretty! I look forward to seeing pics of it in real life. I looks like a pale yellow diamond without the cost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL, Lori!!!! It''s lovely! And GMTA!!!!

I have a Grossular Asscher on the way from Gene. He says he feels like he''s supplying a crack addict.

I went to Peter''s site, but how does his list his new stones? Does he have a newsletter? I feel left out!

Hoofbeats, I just keep an eye on his photoblog on Flickr - http://torraca.net/gems/order.php

Very pretty stone! It''s kind of funny... Dana at Master Cut Gems sent me some pale yellow grossular garnets as a free gift and asked my opinion of them as he was considering buying larger pieces of rough. I told him they were really flashy in person but he''d probably have a hard time moving them since they wouldn''t grab the eye on a website. I told him they might move better cut in an asscher or other step cut. :)

Beautiful Lori!!!!

So when I saw your thread, I fired off a "what about me?" email. When I got the link, I immediately wrote back and said, "I would like the ...... please".

When it''s confirmed, I''ll post it!

Aren''t we lucky girls this morning!

Pandora is right, it will sparkle like mad.

Very neat looking stone! I see the stones he has for sale, but where are the prices?

Very nice stone, Lori! When it comes, can we have a group photo of your colored stone asschers?
