I finally got to see my mother''s green tourmaline ring in person! Its exactly what I had in mind when I embarked on this project with my father. My mother absolutely loved it and hasn''t taken it off since we gave it to her. It even looks nice with her yellow gold flower vine (with ruby centers) 10th anniversary band.

I have a bunch of pics. I managed to narrow it down to my favorite 10.

Closest thing to a flower shot this time of year. We had a Christmas bush. It was trimmed into the shape of a Christmas tree.

Another of the profile on the bench. I wonder how long that gorgeous polish will last...

It''s very pretty. I''m so happy that she loved the ring!!

Whoops last one didn''t work.

Another on the bench on my porch.

My favorite!! I love how this shot shows the different colors in the tourmaline. This stone displays some blue/green tones and some grassy/apple green tones too.

I definitely found myself checking it out on my mother''s hand this week!

The setting was made by an artist on Etsy.com. Her username is Onegarnetgirl. She also makes lovely sets of stacking rings out of silver, rose gold, or yellow gold. I can't wait until I have some extra cash to have her make a set for me out of some stones I've collected.

The stone was cut by Gene at Precision Gems. Its a 1.3 carat square cushion measureing 6.8 mm on the sides.

YAY.....WHAT AWESOME PHOTOS OF THIS BEAUTY.....GLAD YOUR MOM LOVED IT!!!!

Dear Mum,

You are one lucky lady, and I am not jealous at all.

Such a cool ring!

Great photos! I am glad you mom loved it. I can see why - it''s very pretty.

Pretty ring, cool bezel setting. Enjoy!

It''s soooo pretty. Your Mom must be thrilled. I love the simple bezel setting, so classic, clean and elegant. That tourmaline is spectacular, just love the color and it''s vibrance. You have to get a hand shot for us, tell your Mom we want one.

I tried to get a hand shot! The only one I have is with the ring on my ring finger, for which its 2 sizes too large- especially in the winter chill.

When I asked her for one her response was "My wrinkly old hands? No!"

I''ll try to coerce my father to take one since I''ve already left my parent''s house.

Thanks for all the lovely comments! I too am jealous of her ring.

I''ve been watching Onegarnetgirl on Etsy for some time, but your ring finally inspired me to contact her for more information. She is unfortunately away until after new years so she won''t be able to get back to me with an estimate (I wanted to get an idea of how much a setting like yours will cost) but hopefully I''ll be able to set my cushion tanga garnet from Barry!

My username on etsy is the same as my PS if that helps you at all. She was fast getting a quote to me so hopefully it will go the same for you. Good luck!
