@mellowyellowgirl – I said I'd tag you when I posted my new garnet purchase

Manzanita Gems and I reached an agreement on the price of the 4.28ct royal purple garnet (above) loose and I bought it. Actually, they accepted the same amount I offered them the first time, when I failed to converse with them. Maybe they had to think about it? Regardless, it's on the way.

Obviously, I bought it because I am optimistic, and I'm looking forward to assessing it in real life. I can return it for a refund. My main concerns are, in detail:

- Is it too shifty to the reddish/pinkish side than what I'd ideally hope? A significant shift is expected of the material, but it depends how prominent it is and how 'easily' it comes about. I have a small 'test' stone that is a touch warmer than ideal, which I can use to compare side-by-side to.
- Is it too dark? Always a question with larger garnets.

Regarding the vendor: Although I haven't gotten the stone yet – so far, my experience is positive, something I feel I need to say since there was some doubt raised here about their communication. Once I managed to get a hold of them, they responded to everything promptly and professionally, and were very accommodating to a few of my requests.

Congratulations on waiting it out to get your price toomuch!! I am keeping my fingers crossed the color is what you desire. What a coup if this all works out!!
